Thanks for the link.

Do you have a link for the request letter template? I clicked the link listed at the beginning of this thread, but it directs me to something different.

What link did you click on? In the first post in this thread there's a section labeled "Can I request a particular location or room type?" In the last bullet point in this section is the link to the template. I checked it; it goes right to the post that has the template.

I clicked the "here" link and it directs me to the last post of this thread. It could be the app.

I've just updated my floorplan layout maps for the two Royal Room buildings (Oak Manor and Parterre Place). Only relatively minor changes, but several (15) of the rooms which were originally classified as River View - but which had slightly oblique, courtyard-facing views of the river - have recently been reclassified to Garden View category, and the map now reflects that. The breakdown table has also been updated to match.

See www.portorleans.org/images/buildingmaps/Floorplan-POR-MagnoliaBend.pdf.

Ok, so I was looking at the updated maps. I have booked the standard RR. I know almost all of them face the parking lot. I did see some that might have a better view. Do you know what the view might be like for instance in the third floor in Oak Manor? What about on the second and first floor but in the middle of the building? I think Oak Manor might give me the best standard view. I can always request to at least not be looking at the parking lot and that will let me see in between buildings.
Basically what would be the best standard room?

We ordered a case of water and a few snacks from Walmart. com on our last trip and had it shipped directly to the resort. (Address in first post in this thread) It worked out well, and saved space in our car. Plus, $.97 shipped. I ordered about two weeks out, and it was there in plenty of time. We spoke with bell services when we reached our room and it was eventually delivered to us.

That's great! Thank you.

How far ahead is too far ahead to have things shipped down to POR? We'll be there starting June 1 and when DH's beloved Dr. Pepper is back in stock at Staples.com I'm tempted to go ahead and order, but I don't want it to get shoved so far into a waiting area that it gets lost or they think it's not supposed to be there... Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Leaving tomorrow for our first stay at POR. Our first mod actually. I can't wait to check out the resort!

There is a sticky at the top of the board that tells you about shipping to the resort and how to have the box marked so they know you are coming.

They will located it in the baggage services area, where they will be able to locate it.

They are very good at this; people have deliveries quite often.

I'm aware of that... what I'm wondering is this: if Dr. Pepper comes into stock at Staples.com next week I don't want to risk it not being in stock on May 25th which is when I'd place the order. I'm wondering if I order next week but am not arriving until June 1, is that a problem? It's a whole month early.

Thanks!

That is a long time to take up space at guest services for other guests. You do have to realize people are cheking in every week.

Thinking seriously staying at POR for our upcoming trip in Sept. Waiting to book the free dining offer:thumbsup2

How much sharing of buses do POFQ and POR share in Sept.?

TIA

Stroller, Wheel chair, and ECV friendly.

Thanks! I just booked it! And am super excited to stay here. This will be my only opportunity to as DH isn't on this part of the trip and he prefers the deluxe resorts. Plus we are in the middle of buying DVC resale so our next trip will be on points. For this trip, I am resort hopping from POR to AoA to BWV to BLT and then back to BWV!

Will POR transfer my luggage to AoA?

Yep. Do not expect it to be available until after official checkin time.

Sidenote...we own DVC, and we're staying at POR in October. Out of points, and got a little taste of the place in Feb and now we must stay there longer!

I don't think Walmart will deliver sodas anymore. It says in store only and the POR address is not valid for same day grocery delivery for Walmart either. I guess I will check out garden grocer.

Ok awesome thank you.

There's never enough points lol

Three weeks from today, we start our drive :drive: down to WDW for a five night stay at POR! When we last stayed here it was Dixie Landings (I've still got my drink refill mug to prove it!) :) The excitement is definitely building!

We are heading up next weekend and like the previous poster this is our first stay since it was DL too (I was pregnant with my 14 yr old dd last time we stayed there LOL! :rotfl:)

I do have a question for the "experienced/frequent" POR resort guest or anyone else that may know, do all of the corner rooms in Alligator Bayou have connecting doors???
