So, does anyone think that staying in a Royal room is worth the extra cost? They sure look pretty!

I would say they are more on the plush side too. Not too hard. I slept so well while we were there.

You are going to love Riverside. We stayed there on our first DisneyWorld trip and we love POR!!

I've read that the room safe can't hold a laptop, but can it hold two I pads and two I pods together?

We were able to fit a netbook in the safe, as well as other odds and ends. I would expect those items to fit.

After looking at many pictures and videos, we decided to stay in a perferred room at Alligator Bayou. The only thing I am worried about is lack of storage. I am thinking of bringing a hanging cloth closet organizer with shelves. Will one of these work? We are staying for 12 nights and I plan on doing laundry a couple of times. I cannot live out of a suitcase. Thanks.

Sure, the closet will accommodate that. You most likely will not have as many hangers in the room as you would like-ask for more-hang whatever you can. Be sure to use the nightstand drawer for smaller stuff. I also bring a fabric organizer that hangs in the closet with multiple pockets. some folks buy a shoe organizer, but mine has clear pockets, so I can see what is inside. We usually stay for 10 days, and do laundry.

Depends when you went in 2011, but all rooms were redone and finished in 2012. You can see pics on portorleans.org.

If it appeals to you and you can afford then it is nice to stay at least one time. We had one last August and it was beautiful with a gorgeous view and convenient location. I don't know how I'd be able to top it when we stay at Riverside again.

Incorrect. You reach the limit, they ping your card and it starts all over again.

So for instance, if I am at POR and I exceed the $1,000.00 limit, I access two charges on my account. The first is say, for the purpose of example, $1,023.50 and the second is $45.23.

In addition, you are also incorrect in that you can call the resort directly. You cannot, you go through a central call center, where a CM may or may not be able to look up your balance. A quick trip to the concierge desk allows you to ask for a back-up of your charges daily.

Thanks! Can't see us spending that too quickly but with 6 people eating TS....My father would not be happy if he had to go often and run the charges, maybe I should think about telling him to not charge it to the room.

I love seeing all the people who are counting down to trips happening soon. Ours is still 200+ days away, but that's ok with me. Spring finally seems to be making an appearance here in New England and baseball season has started, so I am happy and looking forward to a nice, long spring and summer, so I am not rushing to get to our trip.
