The mansions or Alligator Bayou.............share your thoughts/experiences

picking a place depends on what you want - when we go for a quick trip - then we go for the mansions - and when we go for a week we go for the bayou - for us - the bayou is more relaxing so that's why we go there on the longer trips - but either way - they are both great -

I usually stay in AB, so I voted for it. BUT, for my next (and first solo) trip, I requested the Magnolia Bend ... I figure it will feel like a different vacation ;)

This is the first POR poll I can't vote on. I've stayed at both and have enjoyed both equally. We've never had a bad stay at Riverside, and the quality of the resort was one of the main reasons we bought into DVC.

We bought Old Key West without ever having seen it, and one of the things that convinced us was our single previous stay on disney property - Dixie Landings ( the old name for POR ). We knew how nice the moderates were from that stay, so the DVC resorts must be quite nice. We've found nothing since then to change that opinion.

Whichever side of Riverside you stay at you will enjoy. I know we have !

My wife and I prefer Alligator Bayou. It has a more "homey" feel. The mansion side looks nice, but we like the secluded cabin thing on the AB side.

AB. We like it for the homey feel plus we are a family five and it was great for us!

I voted for the mansions, but I love all of Dixie Landings (Port Orleans).

It's been a few years since we have stayed at PO, but I just love the place!:thumbsup2

I prefered AB to the mansions. It felt cozier and the landscaping is so pretty.

IMHO, The mansions had a really creepy nursing home feel to them. AB felt very 'Disney' to me.

I have only stayed at POR once so I can't compare the two. We had a room in the AB section and loved it.:cool1: It was so peaceful and beautiful. I would stay there again.

My only experience at POR is in the Alligator Bayou section and I really, really enjoyed it and thought that the entire resort was beautiful and very well done. I have nothing against the Mansions section, but I can recommend the AB section because I've stayed there :thumbsup2 Here's a link to my page from my stay there this past May. I have a lot of pictures of the resort, and some comments. Enjoy: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/POR2007.htm

thanks for those pictures, Ive bookmarked them to show my boyfriend as we are going soon :dumbo:

Does anyone have any pictures of The mansions so that we can see the difference?

Either is nice but DH & I prefer the AB section. We have stayed in both but will request AB when ever we can get it.

Great pictures! Thanks!
Building 18 looks great! Are there any bad views in AB?
We really don't want to see the parking lot.
Sorry - off the poll topic
