We are making our first EVER trip to DW in November. We booked through our local travel agent who recommended POR. I am getting nervous about it being the "right" resort for us. There will be 4 families adults 33-70 and children 3 - 19. What can you tell me about POR?

We just stayed there in May and loved it. We were in the Alligator Bayou section since we needed a trundle bed. It's a beautiful, lush resort, and don't miss Bob Jackson at the lounge in the evening, I think Wed thru Sat. He's great for all ages.

My husband and I just stayed there 2 weeks ago. We LOVED it. We were in the Alligator bayou section, and liked the theming in the room. We also like the rambling walkways and how romantic it was at night. I think you will have a wonderful time there!

we were at POR 6/4-6/10. It is a very pretty resort, they have a food court and a sit down restaurant,a general store, an arcade, a marina where you can rent boats and surrey bikes, a fishin hole, a large main pool plus 6 i believe smaller pools, a pool bar, playground.my family loved it. We would definately stay here again.

I think it's a good choice for your group. We have stayed there with others and multi generation, and it is a resort I suggest to family/friends who have never been (and so far they all loved it).

Relaxed southern charm theme, good theme pool that kids will like at all ages because it has the "kid section" and "older section" as we call it, great quiet pools, boat to DTD which is good for all or even your older kids if they want to go to DisneyQuest on their own, sit down, fast food, bar that everyone enjoys, fairly centrally located in the world, water amenities, share with POFQ, two distinct themes and nice to walk around......I think you'll enjoy it.

I do suggest you book some dinners at other resorts to check them out....BOMA at AKL and you can take in all the animals.......great way to see the world. Have a wonderful wonderful trip !!! - OH how I wish my ILs had wanted to do that for the 50th, instead of a labor intensive party....

We stayed there last July and Loved it! We are going back this December!

We have stayed there twice now and I was really happy both times with our room and the resort. It doesn't really feel like a moderate resort and the only thing I miss when we stay there is the monorail (we generally stay at the Polynesian). The grounds are beautiful and the rooms seem very spacious. We stay in the mansions and always get a corner room (you get two windows in a corner room and it really just brightens up the room).

We have stayed there several times and loved it.....

We've stayed there twice and are going back in August. I agree with the above poster - it doesn't feel like a moderate. The only differences we saw between POR and the deluxes are 1) there's no concierge level and 2) there's no valet parking (but you can park right next to your building).

We stayed in the Mansions and loved the theming. Have fun!
