Does anyone know if free wifi has become available?

Not yet, but now that the Deluxes are all done it is going to be rolled out across the Moderates next, and then Values. I believe it will be free (it is at Disneyland) but there could possibly be some sort of scaled service level depending on where you are staying. I don't know a time scale though.

I went back to check and on the Disney sight the new garden view (the one that I booked) states queen sized beds along with the new royal rooms. All the other views still have double beds listed.

The online description for the newly added Garden View category has mentioned queen beds from the start (I guess it saves them editing the text later?) but the other older room descriptions have not been changed yet, and I rather expect they won't be until all of the rooms are done. So until August you might get either type of bed - with the chances getting better for a refurbished room as the year progresses and more buildings are completed.

I'm jealous too! We just got back 10/25, after an 8-day stay! The next time we'll be there is october 2012 for our 10th anniversary. We were in Oak Manor , room 9082 - loved it!!!!!

I am sure you'll let us know make it to the POR, right? Hopefully before February 2012.

We check in May 30 and have a preferred room...what are the chances of getting one of the refurbished rooms?

To those hoping to get a refirbed room, best of luck. They really try to honor room requests, if one is available when you arrive.
In Aug, I had a request on my res. for a new room, and got it. We did arrive early.
Good luck to you both.

Thanks! We need all the pixie dust we can get. I never get my requests, so I think I'll stomp and cry like a baby if I don't get a renovated room in AB.

It is my understanding that all of the resort should be done by then.

Unlikely I'm afraid.

The Preferred Buildings are due to start refurbishment work around 8th May according to the lists I've seen, with work commencing at roughly one-week intervals on the four buildings - 14, 27, 18 and 15. Building 14 does not look like it is due to reopen until 1 June, but maybe they might finish a little early if you are lucky? It does look as though around the last few days in May, all four preferred builings could even be down at the same time - which does seem rather odd, so hopefully 14 will be reopened in time.

ohh damn that sucks.

Has anybody used the jogging trails? I'm curious about what they are like? I've only ever been to CSR before and they have a gym there as well as the lake you can jog around but I remember reading somewhere that the jogging paths in POR are specific paths. Any help would be appreciated.

Just got back from an amzaing 6 night stay at POR. It was supposed to be 3 nights but our flight on Sat. got cancelled due to the storm in the Northeast so I rebooked 3 more nights after checking out. We had boarded the plane when we found out it was cancelled. So....

we have a new favorite Moderate. We just loved POR!!! The first 3 nights I had requested Magnolia Bend but we were in Oak Manor (very close to main bldg) room # 9208. Great location.

The last 3 nights we were in AB Bldg 34, corner room, king bed. The best thing about this bldg is it is maybe a 1 minute walk to bus stop (west). It was great. It was maybe a 5 min. walk to main bldg. So quiet & lush.

I can tell you they are refurb. bldg 36 right now.

I took a TON of pics & when I get settled I will start posting.

My DH ran last year at POR (going to again this year). I think he just ran on the regular pathways throughout the resort. If I remember correctly, the map marks out a jogging path with a measured distance.

Did you notice if there was WiFi while you were there? Did you make a request for your room location or just luck out?
