Actually, they are only required to move you to a comparable resort, which in this case would be another Moderate; POFQ, CBR, or CSR. All of which are very nice resorts.

I know, right!! I am going to call and request a top floor room if we dont move resorts.I have a pref room right now. I need to do some research on the POP threads to see the best room to request. I was thinking over looking the hippity dippity pool!

I have never stayed there but have heard the horror stories. I believe my 2010 trip to POR I still had to deal with bouncing walkways outside my window yelling "omg" and "shut.......up". You'll get that anywhere except the deluxes.

My experience has been a bit different. I have stayed at AKL, WL, CR and Poly. The noise from people in the interior hallways was worse than that at the moderates.

And just so we are clear here, I will be at POR with 2 Cheerleaders!!! My oldest cheers for her HS, she just made their squad, she'll be a Freshman this year (but she has cheered for the past 2 years in Middle School) and my youngest will be cheering for the above mentioned Middle School. So, I do take quite offense to the derogatory remarks about Cheerleaders!!!! Remember not all Cheerleaders are rude loud and disrespectful. Both of mine are Honor Roll students and both are active in our church youth group as well. <--My 2 DDs!!!

Congratulations on your oldest making the HS squad! While I have not personally been to WDW while the cheering competitions are going on, I don't think you should take offense with the remarks make. While many groups are respectful of other guests, unfortunately some do not make good choices and practice quite loudly in open areas later in the night when many little kids are trying to sleep. for your DDs!

Ok sorry retraction and appologies issued, you are right not all are like that. So I owe you and them an apology. I apologize. Congrats to them that is an accomplishment. I will go back and edit what I said and take it out if you will accept my apologies. I pulled a guy maneuver and spoke before thinking. Kinda sets me back from trying to be your friend and asking favor while your there then huh? Ohh well I am sorry, I mean it.

I am a little worried here. My dates for being there in POR are from 2/24/2012-3/3/2012. But according to these dates I am worried if it will be available for me or not. I reserved a royal themed room with river view.

Magnolia Bend, Oak Manor: starts 15 January 2012, for approx. five weeks [Royal Themed Rooms]
Magnolia Bend, Parterre Place: starts 19 February 2012, for approx. five weeks [Royal Themed Rooms]

Look I even said I didn't stay there but it is what I heard. From more than one family staying there. So I just shut up about it then. Sorry for saying what others have told me. If it offended you also sorry. So from now on I'll re read what I type. I really don't mean to sound like that so I AK done talking about that. Back yo any news on refurbished pics? Anyone?

LOL, I know what you mean. It's so frustrating to know there's a DISer wandering around the parks right now with photos of the new rooms safely stored in a iPhone, but sadly can't get them to upload.

we have stayed at Pop a number of times and never had a bad experience or anything close to a "horror story"... also, Pop is not the value resort of cheerleaders/football players/youth groups/etc... they are typically housed at the All Stars, not PC!

as far as internal vs external hallways... it's all the luck of the draw! if you have a noisy family above you (as we did at POFQ... it was TORTURE! ball bouncing and kids jumping up and down every "night" at 3am as they were coming home from the extra magic hours at the parks) it will be noisy... if you have a noisy family down the hall from you (as we did at BC, running down the halls with parents yelling BEEEEEEEEEEEE QUIETTTTTTTT louder than the kids were squealing) it will be noisy... our quietest stays to date have been POR and Pop!

We've stayed at 3 of the 4 listed, and never heard any inside noise from the hallways.

In all our WDW stays we only had 1 bad experience, it was our last night a POR
and new people moved into the next room there were at least 3 or 4 kids ( i think they were vacaying with another family) screaming, running, up & down the walkway, in & out of room, slamming doors. Awful. I just thought, I'm glad it's the last night.
Considering it's only 1 horror story at a resort over the many times I've been, I figure that's not a bad track record
