4 more days till we go!!! I can't wait!! DH & I were checking out the activities at the resort since we have 1 day planned w/ no parks (unless the kids want to go back to one). We saw the pool schedule and we also want to do the pole fishing for 1/2 hour. The kids can't wait! We MIGHT do the movie the night before our hotel day but 9 pm is late for our oldest 2, forget about our 3 year old!

When I'm waiting for DME to take me back to the airport and I'm watching people get off those buses and check-in, it makes me so mad. I secretly hate them. :rotfl:

Off-topic but I just saw the promotional pictures for the Art of Animation suites. EYESORE!

:rotfl2::lmao::rolleyes1 This made me choke I was laughing so hard! I thought I was the only one!

I was then transferred to the resort. However, since you will never see someone at the front desk answering a phone, most likely it was someone in an office right behind the front desk out of view of the public.

It is all about illusion; Disney does not want to tie up CM's at the front desk taking phone calls so they can work with customers standing in front of them, and they want you to think you are talking to someone at the front desk.

This is true for a lot of larger hotels outside of Disney as well. I used to work as a PBX Operator in a high end chain hotel (not Disney) and we had a large switchboard station in an upstairs office of the hotel, not near the front desk. Anytime someone thought they were calling the front desk, it was us. We would then route requests to housekeeping, route reservations to the Central Reservations line in the mid-west, route room service calls to the restaurant, etc. They deemed it as "unprofessional" if the front desk staff was answering phones when trying to assist in-person guests. They also were not allowed to point and had to do hand motions as an "open palm" and they could not say the world "help", it had to be "assist". Lots of crazy rules in hotels

Ah, so true; my neighbor and I were discussing how just a short time ago, we were discussing going "next year" and here it is.

But I like it to slow down too; there isn't anything worse then the "walk of shame" to the ME bus at the end of the trip.

I agree that darn "walk of shame" is the worst, I don't think anyone looks forward to it.

This is by far our favourite resort! Here are a few pics from Oct 2010.

It will go fast. Now I'm wishing time would slow down, cause I don't want my vacay at WDW to end too fast!
That WDW Arch should have a time machine in it, and when you go under it, time magically slows

I got a feeling that their is a time machine but someone wired it backwards. Because from what I here time speeds up when you are there.... maybe it was Disney that purposely wired it backwards so they can get more guests in a shorter time.

Yeah I agree Stan, and thanks for the Garden Help!!!

Your welcome I hope it works. Cutting back plants and having them grow back is the one thing I am good at (and not just the weeds). My rose bushes come back every year better then then the last. Mind you they are the weirdest roses you ever saw. Each stick has three to four roses on them with next to nothing of a stem.

By the way your avatar is so cool.

We'll be staying at POR next month for 2 nights after our cruise. We're very excited! We have a king room booked. Are these corner rooms? I know they could be in either section of the resort.

Darn it! I still have another 392 days to wait!!

I have to live through all of YOU WHO ARE GOING SOON!!! Can't wait to hear all about the trips and see the pics :woohoo:

Anybody that is currently at POR or just got back I have a quick question hope you can help.

Were you able to get free wifi at all on your trip? Maybe at the pool or maybe in the lobby.

No in my past 4 years, a trip every year, have never found free wifi except at orlando intl airport. DVC has a wifi in the park but you have to be on DVC membership. I am getting free wifi on my plane rides!

I like the way you think. We leave tomorrow flying into Tampa for two nights stay at the Doubletree in North Redington Beach and then we'll be checking in at POR for our 10 night stay!!!!!! I can't believe it is finally here!!!!

:cool1: :dance3:

Hi Sue!

So excited for you!!:yay: I hope you have a wonderful time!

Question regarding your location, I was wondering which bus depot you are speaking of? Is it the East Depot? From the map, that looks like the closest one from Oak Manor. We're trying to decide which bulding to request, and I'm thinking that Magnolia Terrace is the best choice.

Yup, East Depot. Had to go look at map, I can never remember the stop name.
Magnolia Terrace is my fav location, but depending on when you're going, it may be closed for renos. I think it has started, or will be soon. There's a reno sched on page 1.
