No Availablitiy at ALL with the 30% off offer :scared1: POR from 3/1 to 3/9, normally it always seems to be POFQ that sells out during promos, I am guessing between the refurbs in AB and the Royal Rooms everyone booked POR

This only holds as valid if you make the assumption that everyone who stays at POR in the time period shortly before Feb. 17 is actually staying until a date after the 17th.

I did several brackets, ranging from the 17th of Feb to 15th of March now. Still no availability for anything other than Preferred or standard rooms. No Royal Themed ones show available.

We are referring to different time periods. I am talking about the dates before the official Feb. 14th room openings.

Don't forget you will only see Disney's unallocated inventory. They might have pre-sold blocks to travel agents, etc which might not all get taken up.

That is what I am trying to explain to them. Also if all the rooms are taken in the time frames I looked up they would not take a person that has already checked in and let them stay in there til the peson that had a reservation came to check in and then go oh well now you have to go back to the regular room.

Example: John Doe's dates are from the 14th to 21st of feb. Rooms open on 17th or earlier. Say the 16th but all rooms are sold out from 17th on. The hotel would not put someone in there for the 16th only then go ok you have to get out now on the 17th. Thats all I was saying lol.

I am on your side; the other two posters that continue to debate the topic are waiting for the answer that they want to hear; not necessarily what is going to ultimately be reality.

Now I will get off my soapbox. This is a ultimately a thread about sharing our love for POR....

Venom, I do thank you for checking. Up until last week there was available rooms for the dates in all views of the royals. Now, my inquiry is a non-issue. I am sure we will love the garden view we booked and are looking forward to the trip. My sons will probably be glad there isn't going to be one available (they don't even know we are going yet). I thought they were cool!

Missytara, I was simply inquiring if the dates are sometimes adjusted after actual checkin dates are posted and booked and the other poster was asking about rooms being open prior to the date but checking out BEFORE the scheduled date. Sorry for making you get on a soapbox, hope it wasn't too much trouble;)

Missytara, Yeah I agree back to the love.

shoney, Yeah we did the whole surprise thing last year and it was soo hard I tell you up to the day we did it. Then we sprung it and she didnt believe us. She kept saying nuh uh. We told her we were just eating dinner at the airport and then going to a movie, then as we pulled up to the front and stopped at Airtrans drop point we sprung it. She was completely caught off guard.

We are actually telling them on Christmas. They really didn't ask for much this year, so I figured I'd make it part of their present. I bought the "im going to disney world" t shirts from Disney.com, a lanyard, a few pins, and gift cards. We don't leave until 2/15. I am pulling them out of school for 3 days, so I do need to tell them before hand anyway, so they can get their work.

It has been so hard not to tell them. I can't wait until next week so we can all get excited together.

We pulled our little one out also, but we found the email address to the teacher and went that way to clear the absent days. She had no clue except the teacher and us. Well maybe we will cross paths why your there? I would definitely show you the room if you really wanted to check one out inside. But I had thought it be nice to do ones like the four presents, labeling them when how where and who. Then tell them its a puzzle and to figure it out.

Okay, last time...
Your argument is only valid if everyone who checks in before the 17th stays until after that date. For example, what about the parties who check in on the 14th and check out on the 16th. Or 17th, even.

And even though my argument never included the aspect of guests staying through a period that includes the 17th, as Andre pointed out there may be presold blocks of rooms that went unsold by travel agents. Or, heaven forbid, cancellations.

Anyway, it really doesn't matter to me since we check out on the 18th and have already booked our room type of choice.

Curious: Who all has dates that either overlap or are down there during Feb. 24th through the 3rd of March?

That's a very cute idea. I am too much of a blabber mouth to keep a secret like this!!! I also don't think a first trip ever (first plane ride) would be a good idea as a surprise since I don't know how they are going to handle it. Maybe after this I can work on a surprise. I love watching peoples YouTube videos of surprises for trips to WDW! So cute! :woohoo:

284 days till our first ever trip!

Yeah as I mentioned earlier in here, it was sooooo very hard hiding this last year. We told her we couldnt go and things were tight. So she took that well and let it go. But little did she know we started then making plans back in july for this past Feb, and me and my fiance kept slippin and letting things go when we would talk, and all the sneaking around just to plan dinners and places. It was very taxing, she kept trying to beg me to let her tell her. But I kept strong and told her no and things like imagine the look on her face when we spring this on her. So yeah I know it will be hard when you go to do your surprise.

Hello all, I know someone here will know the answer! My husband and I will be down at the end of January and are currently booked at Pop. However, I really want to move over to Port Orleans. All that's left to book using our PIN is a river view room, which is great, but I'm wondering what the chances of it being in a renovated building with queen beds is? Are any of the buildings that have already been renovated river view? I know room requests aren't guaranteed, but would like to know if it's even possible before switching. Thanks!

Although no room request is guarranteed, the mansions have plenty of river view rooms and they have been refurbished. We gor a pin and did the same thing. We booked river view and requested mansions so that we could get a refurb room. The only way that wouldn't work for you is if you have 5 in your room, then you would have to book AB (not sure which AB rooms are refurbed that are river view)

Pretty good to be honest. Buildings 14 and 38 in AB, plus Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace all have renovated rooms now. As Oak Manor will be shut for refurb mid-January, that would just leave Parterre Place and AB 27 (and a handful of rooms in AB 18) as the only options which won't have refurbed rooms by then. So even on random odds, without putting in a request, the odds are 2:1 in your favour.

Venomhatch - In answer to your roll call, our family will be there Feb. 27 to March 4. :yay:

I was shocked that DD put a Tiana dress at the top of her Christmas list - that made me even more excited to surprise her with the Royal Room! princess:

To the second part first, that was very cute. She will be very happy those days. To the first part cool I was just trying to see how many other DISers would be there at the same time maybe to say hi in passing if that. They should make a pin for DIS members to spot them and say hey there I know you lol.

Question - we booked a garden room (yay!) for the end of January, it said that is had queen beds, where are these rooms located?
