We are booked for March, AB with queen beds, so I'm thinking that will be a new room. How soon till we will be able to see photos of the new rooms with a murphy bed or are they already out yet????

Thanks!

no room under the bed in my room, I'm in a non referb, one of the mantion buildings. Theses are resent shots, like 5 mins ago, it's nap time for EMH at the MK tonight

Just booked a Royal Guest Room standard view for March 30-April 3rd. We are spending some time at WDW after we disembark from our DCL Magic trip. This will be our first time at POR and I am loving this thread. :lovestruc

Never seen a picture of someone's toe on this thread before.:lmao:

Made my reservations just this morning for our July trip in 2 Royal Rooms. Now, I'm hoping for a discount to make it a little sweeter!:cool1:

They will not after the refurb All the beds get bed boxes so nothing can be lost or stored under the beds.

Yes, that's one of the things I used to like most about AB, we always used to tuck our cases under one of the beds. Shame that's going. :(
Still, I guess it'll make the vacuuming easier.

In fact, probably the worst thing about the refurbished rooms seems to the overall reduction in storage space.

The second worst thing by the way is the lack of dimmer switches above the beds (something else we used all the time). Another few years time and these wretched, horrible CFL bulbs that have been foisted upon us will be a thing of the past, but sadly not yet.

(Sorry, not meaning to have a downer tonight, I love the new rooms generally but I guess nothing is perfect)

I am so looking forward to being at POR in 42 days! It will be our first Christmas at Disney!:santa: All the pictures and info have been very helpful in our planning. I can't wait to see the pics from the refurbed AB rooms. Since we are a family of five, I hope we will be able to get one. But if we don't- I'll still be happy cause we will be at Disney!:cheer2:

I am wondering the same thing. I just called to change my resort to POR for my family of five. As nice as the CM was, she had no idea about AB section or Murphy beds.
I will cancel this resort if it is the trundle. My DS14 would not fit.;)

Depending on the size of your DS14, I dont think he would fit in the murphy either, it's still on the small side up to about age 10

We have a trip planned for April 2012. I have a Royal Room booked for me, DH, and DD's, and my parents have King bed room booked. We requested to be in a connecting room or at least near each other. I was told that there would be King rooms in the same building with the Royal rooms, but read somewhere on here that they will be in different buildings. Does anyone know which answer is right?

From what I've been informed, there will be no King Bed rooms within the Royal Themed buildings, all 512 rooms will have two queens. This is backed up by the online booking site which does not offer that option either.

I'm booked for the Royal Room for May 26-June 26. :cheer2::cheer2:

I can't wait to get there and see this beautiful resort!

I just called three times just to get a idea if they really knew or not about the king bed deal. But sadly no there will not be any king bed rooms in the royal buildings. Both the oak and parterre will be all queens. Sorry.

You may want to call and double check. Because don't want you to get there and be disappointed.

I will call again and double check. Thanks for checking for me! I don't want to give up my royal room, so I guess my parents will be in another building!

We have never been to POR, will it be a big deal if we are in different buildings?

Family of 5 thinking of switching from Allstar suite to POR for savings of $700. We are going 1/23 to 1/29 and I have read that 4 of the lodges should be completed.

Just wondering what our chances are for a renovated room as we are 3 adults and 2 children ages 6 & 7 and the queen beds would be nice.

I know it will be tight in one room but we plan to be in the parks all day and the savings will allow us to do other things that we want to do. Also my dh is from Louisiana and would love the theming of this resort :)

Thanks for your help!

Well if they put you all in the oak royal rooms, then maybe if they were in the magnolia building you would be close.

The closest rooms in Magnolia Terrace and Oak Manor are much nearer together than the furthest rooms within single buildings. See this overhead view: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nq...63914&dir=8.303128997739502&sty=b&form=LMLTCC (Oak, which will have the Royal Rooms, is the bottom of the two buildings with the greyer roof, and Magnolia is the upper one with the browner roof)

I'd suggest maybe trying for ground floor though, to save having to walk to stairs and then along the corridors (as the elevators are in the middle of each building).
