Not in your lap, but in the basket up front!

Thanks for all the info on the surreys! We will have DD5 and DS7, but they really look like fun so we may give it a try.

Great shots Purple Opal.

Milling around.

Thanks! I love everything you have posted too, although it looks like you know wayyy more about cameras than me!

I've also seen a bunch of the photos you've posted in the Grand Californian thread. Love them, as that is my favorite resort, hands-down.

We made a reservation for POR back in December 2010 for POR Riverside for Aug 26 - Sep 7 of this year. With Magnolia Terrace being down at that time, what are my chances of getting our room request because of the limited capacity? We are hoping to get something in Oak Manor on the top floor.

Small world/threads isn't it? I love the Grand Californian as well. I loved getting up in the rafters at that hotel and shooting down onto the lobby area. It really is a great place to visit. I have to rank it right up there in favorite places I've stayed. Thanks for the nice comments. Now on with the show.

Still no Refurb photos, I'm just in shock.....no one has brought any back yet.

Prob. nothing much to photograph yet. I think or hope they are prob. just gutting rooms now. But some photos would be nice- evidence, lol!

Can't wait to see what the new rooms look like. I hope someone can slip in to get some photos when some are done- hint- anyone end of July?

Wow, that is one packed surrey bike! We are going to try this out on our upcoming trip in just 45 days.....there will be just 4 of us so it won't be quite as tight a fit.;)

That is true; it is easier to do all the demolition first and get everything out of the way to receive fixtures, etc. Least likely to damage new materials, fixtures, finishes, etc.

We leave in 3 weeks  Maybe we'll be able to see something. :goodvibes

Be sure to do some snooping and pic taking for us :thumbsup2

Kinda surprised there is nothing released about what the regular rooms will look like yet? They sure are keeping it under wraps. I hope the rooms are as nice as the FQ rooms. I was so impressed with them, when I was at POR last Jan, a friend was in FQ so I went over for a look.
Loved the bathroom too, lots of space with the new vanity. :thumbsup2

Me too! We had seen pictures of the mock up that was on display at FQ when they were doing those. I was hoping that by now they'd have one on display and we could see something.

Boatwright's looks nice. Who's eaten there? Any good?

Boatwright's was great for breakfast, but they no longer serve it (since 2009, I believe).

For dinner, for a moderate resort, and what you get, it is pretty pricey. I would do it in a pinch, if needed, but overall, too expensive for the food you get.

No, the first pictures leaked of the new POFQ rooms just a few days before building 7 re-opened. A guest saw an open door in the work area and sneaked in and grabbed a few photos of a finished room that was just awaiting the soft furnishings (bedspread, etc). That was 12 November, a week before the first rooms were re-opened. AFAIK, Disney have still not released any official photos of the new POFQ rooms.
