The new pull down beds in the AB area of POR, they are below the flat screen TV and above 3 drawers in the cabinet... I have read for a petite person under 5 foot high.

Our DD is a very petite person - only 95 pounds and 5 foot 1.5 inches.

:confused3Do you think she would still be able to sleep on the POR AB pull down extra bed ?

Also - I have seen a picture of the alligator from the Princess and the Frog movie. :confused3Is the picture lit up with small lights ? :confused3Are the lights always on or can they be turned off ?

Thank you to anyone who knows or has tried the new POR AB pull down bed.;)

I am 5'1" and when my DD climbed out of the Murphy bed and into mine I tried it out. It wasn't horrible but I did have to curl up a bit to fit on it.

Speaking of the pull-down bed, can you attach bed rails to it? My almost 4yo will be sleeping on it but I am worried about him rolling off.

I've wondered the same thing.

Not only that--there were TWO rooms for us?! It took a while to sort out, but our room was ready for us at 10am. We were in building 15 in a beautiful corner room!

Was it 1501/02 by any chance.....?

Well my DD is about 5'4" and was perfectly comfortable on it for two weeks, she really liked it in fact. As with most people, she tends to 'snuggle' herself up a bit when she sleeps rather than stretching out full length, and she said it was great. It felt very sturdy when folded down (yes, it comes down over the bench seat). There are no lights on the alligator picture, that's just for the Royal Rooms.

Yes, apparently you can. The matress is velcroed down, but you can still lift it up and attach bed-rails.

Just a quick picture of the new carpet rug which was put down today in the POR lobby, allowing them to bring out the rest of the furniture in order to complete the refurbishment (these chairs were held back until the carpet was ready, to protect the new tiles):

And while I'm at it, these are not finished yet (got some more colour/exposure correction/etc to do and then create better resolution versions) but thought you might like these work-in-progress 360-degree panoramas:

POR Lobby (you can clearly see the space that the above rug has now gone into)

When did you do these? Last trip? Very nice Andre, Very nice indeed!

I haven't been over there since the sneak and peek, How are they doing the corner rooms in RGR? What I am asking about is in your room with the panoramic what do they do with the mirror and two regal banners red and blue? In a corner room they wouldn't be able to put them there because of the second window.

I've been lurking here for a while but I wanted to post and say thank you, Andre, for posting those beautiful 360s! Now I am really, *really* excited about our trip. This thread and your website were the deciding factors that made us choose POR. It will be our first stay there and we have booked a Royal Room, so getting a preview of the lobby and the room we will be staying in is awesome. Only 213 days to go! :goodvibes

Gorgeous!!!!! I can't wait to get there (December is a long time away)!

Thanks so much. We will be staying here in Dec. and it is our first time
at Port Orleans. We will also be staying in a Royal Guest Room so this is
very nice to see. Disney should have you do these for all of there resorts.
Very good quality.

We stayed in the royal rooms and walked over the bridge to the main bus depot. The buses were very crowded in the AM and coming back at night but they never went to the other depots so there must have been a separate bus for outlying depots. A few times we took the FQ bus back at night because the lines for POR were so long and then walked back to our room. The FQ buses were never full and came more frequently than the POR buses.

We just came back on Monday..and did the same thing a few nights..took the FQ back from the parks. We had planned to walk over to POR and 2 of the 3 times the bus driver just said he would drive us over:)

My sister's room was closer to the East Depot and she waited long times for buses that eventually towards mid/end of trip she would just walk over to the south depot to get the bus there.

We were in 1504 and I was never told what the other room number was. It would have been nice to have a spare room for napping and closet space, though! What made you guess the other set of rooms?

For those who have been since the refurb AND have stayed at POR before the refurb... do you notice the missing space from the switch to queen beds? Does it seem less "roomy" by any means? Looking at pictures of the Magnolia Bend rooms its obvious the bedside table is smaller ...so I was just wondering if the room felt more cramped or is it not noticed?

Frankly, not really. It's only a few inches per bed, so unless you're checking with a tape measure (what? me?) then I doubt you'd notice. What is more of a loss though is the missing drawer space from the old four-drawer armoires (especially in Alligator Bayou). I also missed not having the under-bed storage space for cases in the AB rooms, so a double-whammy there.

Andre

The only thing we noticed is in a connecting room; they switched out the mattresses only and you had to push the mattress back slightly to get the door open. It overlapped about 1/2 inch onto the actual door.

The floor area seemed exactly the same.
