We will be checking on the 25th. I just sent our water order from walmart there. My kids are beyond excited to be there. Hope everyone heading that way for vacation soon has an awesome time.

I bring Starbucks Via, the pods for those machines are too hard to find. Also, I won't brew the Florida tap water, I buy a case of bottled water and use that. The Florida tap water tastes like it came unfiltered from a sewer, and that effects the taste of the coffee quite a bit.

So do you heat your water through the coffee maker??? I am flying and we are in Canada. Bringing a case of water will be pretty tough? I really hate not having my coffee. There are a few places we can get some but not first thing when we wake up lol :surfweb:
The coffee makers at POR are new so has anyone tried making their own coffee in them???

Mickeygolf - thank you so much for the very thorough and helpful review. Glad you had a nice trip! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info on the recent stay to Mickeygolf. We are leaving for our first ever stay at Riverside this Sunday. (10 night stay, free dining from a bounce back last year).

So far, were excited, but I do admit I'm also a little bummed as the past two years we went deluxe. One stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and last year at Wilderness Lodge. (Wilderness Lodge now being my all time favorite hotel\resort anywhere on the planet)!

Anyway, we are looking forward to it, and 'm STILL thinking about upgrading to a royal room as it looks like they are available. It's our daughters 10th birthday, and I thought it might be a nice surprise, but still trying to figure out if the extra $300 for the stay is worth it for a room, or if spending it on extra stuff while there is more worth while, LOL.;

Decisions decisions!

What is this fax template you speak of? ;) No....seriously.......do you remember the page # or the post #? I would love to download that baby so I could have it ready for next year.

And what a great review!!! I think you hit everything spot-on. During our stay last year, we had the old-fashioned trundle beds and I'm glad to see some great reviews of the new murphy beds. I also agree that the mini pizzas at WDW have been seriously lacking as of late.

Thanks!!!!

One of my older boys has decided he wants to go on a cruise with his grandmother instead of Disney. So, we'll be leaving him behind, as guilty as that makes me feel even with him going on a cruise! :worried: :guilty:

But, it would mean I could switch to POR, which is my favorite resort, instead of the 2 rooms at Pop......except the rooms for 5 on the FD promo are all sold out! :sad2::sad1::sad:

sometimes villas 1 bedroom, like at AKV are cheaper than renting 2 rooms..check into it and see..we were family 5 and found it was cheaper to get villas

Sorry to go on and on about the coffee and the POR coffee makers. :confused3 Unfortunately I don't have enough time to order pods and sont want to spend $20 for overnight shipping:offtopic: VIA it is! The food court has hot water :D Thanks everyone and I am open to suggestions and anyone knows how to make coffee from coffee grinds in those crazy machines ;)
8 more days!!! :dance3:

How is the bus service? How are the waits for buses and are they standing room only often? I've read a few reviews recently and it seems people were unhappy with the bus service.

We are considering renting a car but I'd rather save the cash and leave the car seats home unless it's really going to be crowded on the buses. We will have two small boys with us so I'm hoping they will be able to sit down on the buses most of the time.

Can anyone suggest a limo service that they have used recently with no issues? Have heard such differing views for happylimo not sure if anyone has used a different company?

We are checking into to POR tomorrow for 1 night before we move over to the Yacht Club. I had planned to stay off site, but we will hopefully be arriving earlier than I had originally planned (traffic permitting) and I have been eyeing POR on this thread for some time so I thought this would be a good opportunity to check it out.

Plus, I've justified that it will probably save me more money in the long run if this deluxe girl falls in love with this beautiful disney moderate. :thumbsup2

We are staying in a standard view Royal Room. Can't wait to get there and check out POR first hand!

The bus service last week was great. The longest we waited for a bus we needed was maybe 10 minutes and that was the longest the whole week. But it does get crowded. I stood on buses more last week than I ever have in the past. It's a big resort and sometimes they stop at French Quarter first so the buses can get very crowded. However, I saw more acts of kindness on those same buses with men, women, and children giving up their seats for those that could use them more and am very proud to say my kids did it many times for moms with little ones. It was a great experience for us with the buses.

I completely agree with Mickeygolf! If you want to stay in the "Disney bubble" and you have everything you're gonna need and aren't traveling off site, I would definitely not rent a car.

We usually drive down and then we park our car while at POR and don't drive again til we leave the resort. For us, it's part of the experience. My kids are a bit older but we've been doing this for years. If you're kids are fussy or particularly tired and you are standing, very often someone will figure out a way for the young child to sit.

I also think it depends on your mindset. If you are someone who worries about that extra 10 or 15 minutes that may happen at times, then a car may be best for you. When you relax and just go with it, it is so much more enjoyable.

With young kids, if you are not on the dining plan and want to be able to run through McDonalds or the store, you may want a car but it isn't necessary at all if you plan. :thumbsup2
