I have no questions here.. I just wanted to say "Hello!" :wave2: We're staying at POR next year! This is our first time staying there! We have stayed at POFQ and we love that resort! Next year, there will be 5 of us, so this can only mean POR. I'm looking forward to staying there. Though I am going to miss POFQ, I know I can just walk along the river and visit there. :)

We're hoping to go first week of Feb.
If we arrive at the resort around 7 pm on a Thurs., check-in, and then get something to eat at the food court, is it still worth trying fit 10 people in to try and see Bob?
I keep hearing that you need to be there by 8...and we probably won't be.

What, no Bob fans here? LOL

Anyone?

Hi! :wave2: I just wanted to join you guys over here! Phantoomch, invited me over from the December 2012 Roll Call thread!

Because of a wonderful turn of events that unfolded this week, I got a great new job unexpectedly, I was able to change our reservation from POP! to Port Orleans Riverside! I have been stay-at-home moming for the past 2.5 years and man...1 income can be not-so-fun when you are used to 2! But that all changes now! DD is so excited for preschool to start and DH and I are so happy that we will have the additional salary now to save for a new house downpayment, and go to PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE!!! :goodvibes

I think I prefer the Magnolia Bend rooms to be honest. I would be happy with either but, from photos I am more drawn to the mansions. Anyone want to recommend an area for us? We do our laundry probably 2 times while vacationing. I prefer to pack light and wash. So a room in close proximity to the quiet pool/laundry area, near-ish a foot bridge too would be nice. We are vacationing Dec 1 - 9 and going to MVMCP!!! :santa:

Oh and I just wanted to say Andre you've down a fantastic job with this thread and the website!!!

Welcome! Glad to see you over here :)

I'm not to sure as I can only advise about the Royal Rooms .... I'm sure Andre will be able to help you :)

We won't be there at the same time as you as we're going in December.....but I think I have Bob fit in on our Friday evening! It means skipping Epcot during evening EMH but shoot, I don't think we want to be Epcot during EMH anyway ;)

We just saw Bob for the first time on Wednesday night. Got there at 8:15pm and there were still seats available during his show. My family loved it and had a great time. I'd definitely try to go!

We are here now in a royal garden view in Parterre in the inner courtyard. Love everything about our room, the resort and our stay so far. The wireless Internet is at full strength on my iPad so I can't complain about that. Think I've convinced my parents that Disney is a great place!

6 days and we will be at POR royal room cannot wait to return. It has been 5 years. My Dgd's will love this. It is a surprise trip.

Does anyone have an updated menu from the River Roost with their specialty drinks and appetizers on it?

Thanks guys! I guess we'll unload our stuff in the room, head over for some dinner, and then pop in there and see how crowded it is. I don't want to tell dh in advance...he won't be "enthused" about the whole thing, but I'm betting he'll like it once there. [I hope! LOL]

Yay! So glad your having a good time :goodvibes

I am sure this has been asked somewhere in this thread already so, please excuse me. How is the storage space in the Royal Guest Rooms? Will there be enough space to store 3 to 4 suitcases (1 large, 3 max. carry on size), enough closet space and drawer space for 4, etc.? I just want to be prepared and not shocked by space (or lack there of).

Yes, I am bumping my own post lol.

I'm so glad to hear this! I read this to my two kids and they think it will be fun. I hope my DS 10 doesn't feel too old once he's there though. He likes the idea of it so hopefully. . . Also, I thought I read somewhere that the kids were served a snack (a peanut butter uncrustable). Is that true?

Anyway, we are so excited to be staying at POR with our kids. My DH and I stayed there once a few years ago for an anniversary trip. We loved it! We'll be arriving 4 months from tomorrow!!! :)

No uncrustable. They had a choice of pretzels, Rice Krispy treats, and gold fish.

Do you have to dinner there or is it a show you can just watch/hang out at?

 Hi everyone! Wanted to join in on the thread because we just booked a Royal Guest Room-Garden View for April 2013. While we've stayed at POFQ in the past couple of years, we haven't stayed at POR since back when it was still Dixie Landings (I think our last time there was in 2000) and our DD has never been. We are so excited to be heading back :hyper: - and for the RGR.:goodvibes

It's not a dinner show, it's at the River Roost bar and you can order drinks and apps if you like. They just updated the menu.

We'll be down @ POR tomorrow with DD16 and her BFF 16 :cool1::cool1::cool1:.
Hoping for a nice garden room in the mansions....hope the weather improves down there...storms the last couple of days.Last time we as a family went (all 5 of us) it rained and thunderstormed ALL week long...it was miserable...we spent alot of time in the food court playing on the big lego table they had there. Also, never got to ride on the boat to DTD as it was always closed due to the bad weather.
Please let the weather cooperate this time :worship:

It is a show that you can hang out and watch. We ordered adult drinks but didn't have to get anything. The server even suggested if we were hungry that we could bring food from the food court. No pressure to order at all.

So if my kids brought in drinks in their refillable mugs...that's ok?
