These are the lunches I have planned based on convenience and kids - Pizza Planet, Tusker House, The Plaza, Crystal Palace and Nbbling around World Showcase. 2 of the other days we'll do Riverside Mill and I want to try and fit in Wolfgang Puck Express.

Never going to crystal palace again. Horrible experience. Didn't even get seated until almost four hours after reservation.

You are the first person I found who ALSO had a bad experience at CP.

I found he food to be sub par.... That I expected, as you go more for the character interaction. But the service was horribly slow, they never came to clear our plates, we actually had to bring them up to the clearing cart ourselves. Had to flag the waitress down for drink refills.

We also said never again....and have stuck to it so far.

I agree very below what I expected given what you pay to go there! Food was not as good as hoped. Are waiter was very good though always on top of refills clearing them off. He even went and got a character to come back that our lil girl missed when he was in the rest room.

I know CP has mixed reviews, if I drop a character meal it would be this one. However, I have it scheduled more for the characters than the food. I read that the Pooh characters meet in HS. Is that a daily thing?

 I've booked CP

We had lunch there in 2010 and breakfast at 8:05 in Oct. 2011. Liked it very much both times, but breakfast was our preference. The characters were fun and spent enough time at our table, the food wasn't bad at all, we were seated within a reasonable length of time of our ADRs. Don't worry!

Hi all, :wave2:

39 days until our huge fantastic week stay at POR Riverside. :cool1::cool1::cool1: Now that I'm reading more here about room selection, the thought has come to mind that--I neglected to think of making a room request during our initial booking. Anyone ever go brainless like me ;) on this one, and successfully make a last minute request?

I am sorry. Its worth the characters, if you get seated on time. But I would hold on going there because of the money level there. Its a buffet so eat as much as you want. But not for those who want to just meet pooh characters. You can meet them in HS.

We're planning on coming back to POR to rest and swim most days of our vacation. Is there enough variety at Riverside Mill to have lunch 3 times over 10 days and not get tired of it?

Even if it was.....DTD is a short boat ride away.....I don't think I'd ever get tired of the QS possibilities there!

Changed our reservation to a royal room...paid for our trip today! We are ready to visit POR for the first time. I requested the Oak building...any other requests you think I should make? We have a garden view room. Only 50 more days to our visit:)

Maybe you can get lucky and get a fountain view. Real Majestic!

Its ok, I was just teasing :) Tbh, the only reason we are going there is because my Mum loves the look of it - it is built just like a Victorian building we have back in the UK called ... wait for it ... Crystal Palace ;) she would pass it as a child and always wondered what it was like inside (my parents also live here in the US now). Her and my Dad went to WDW in 2002 and wanted to go but they didn't have ressies. We booked our trip last minute last year so couldn't ressies.

This trip I was determined to book for my Mum so she could finally go, its kind of a trip down memory lane for her, but one that Disney is creating for her. Its also my parents 42nd wedding anniversary when we go so I'm trying to make this trip as special as possible :)

Nah, I do that kind of thing all the time - makes my life much more interesting :p Make a request, you never know. Alot of people make their requests when they do online check-in 3 days before arrival. Good luck!

Our original plan was to try as many new things on this trip as we could. CP and POR are the only things that we have booked for our second trip that we also booked on our first because we enjoyed them so much. Now if I could only book a table for Yee Ha Bob.
