I'm about a week away from checking in what's the number to fax my requests in and how do I word the fax its our honeymoon and we are staying in royal room river view!!

Just booked another trip! Got a River view and requested Alligator Bayou Building 14. Hopefully we will get this as we have never stayed in the Bayou section. So excited to be going back and we have never been in February. Is it usually Aug or Sept when they announce dining and discounts for the following year?

We are going going in Feb too the 14th to the 24th. Right now we just have the room booked....riverview & requested Magnolia Terrace. We were there this past March and loved the location. We just called them today to add an extra day and the CM said in the next couple of weeks Disney should open up the packages and then a week or two after that is when the special will come out.

Update we may after all be either going to POR RGR river view or WL for the upcoming vacation. So may even be staying with those arriving last week of feb.

We just called them today to add an extra day and the CM said in the next couple of weeks Disney should open up the packages and then a week or two after that is when the special will come out.

How funny. We were there in March 2012 also and stayed in the Princess rooms. We are going 13th-18th and just made reservation this morning. So excited!

Hey well if we stay at POR then we will be in the RGR RV area between the 22-3, so look for our LGMHs hanging from our bags. I'll probably be the guy with the big ole HP book bag and LGMH hanging from it.

Since we are gonna be there for 10 days we are probably gonna spend 22nd & 23rd just taking it easy by the pool unless we need to make up for a rainy day. The 24th is the day we leave but we are probably gonna book a late afternoon flight so we can hang out at the pool before we head over to the airport on the ME. I will keep a lookout for you guys

It looks like there are pool view rooms from building 18. Would these be considered water view or preferred?

There are 8 of them, and they are officially considered Water View category.

I am running in the Princess Half Marathon in February. Traditionally, POR and POFQ have both been host hotels, and I am hoping they both will be in 2013. We've stayed at POFQ before and really liked it, but we like to rotate properties and see them all.

Here's the question... I really like the mansions, but I'm concerned about how big the property is to get to the bus stop at 3 AM. I'd prefer to not be eaten by an alligator before running!

I know FQ is smaller with one bus stop. Could you reassure me that POR is not "too large?"

So we are booked in a preferred room for our trip early August. Would it be fair to request a garden view room? I've already requested building 14 per the suggestions on here, but I'd also like to get a garden view room if possible. It wouldn't be a deal breaker if we got parking lot view, but it would be nice to have a good location. The building 14 is the most important to my family so we are close to all the action and bus stop.

I watched this last year when they were doing this. I have to say way to go, hope you do well when you go. They had all kinds of medical emergencies at the last one. I was in a monorail that got stuck out of station at epcot and watched the people cross the finish line.

I don't when you should, but I booked mine around the same time I booked my ADRs with no problem.

Yes, that is a perfectly reasonable request, and stays within the Preferred category without needs any upgrading.

Yes they do, see FAQ in first post. Always assuming you do get an AB room of course, the mansion buidlings do not have this facility.

This must of course now be done with the previously-completed section of the lobby too, so they will shut that side off again for a few days while the work is completed. Then the furniture will be put back into place.

I don’t know what’s happening about the carpet though - I know that originally a new one was planned to be put down, but it looks like the new floor is all tiled to me.

The main lobby at Port Orleans Riverside has re-opened today after its two-month refurbishment... well, almost. At a fairly late stage they decided to add an extra treatment to the floor tiles, which took a few days to apply and harden. This must of course now be done with the previously-completed section of the lobby too, so they will shut that side off again for a few days while the work is completed. Then the furniture will be put back into place.

I don’t know what’s happening about the carpet though - I know that originally a new one was planned to be put down, but it looks like the new floor is all tiled to me.
