I don't think there is such a thing as a tidy teenager! :rotfl2:

I think you're right, I've got two of them at my house, and when we cruise the kids have their own room (connecting) and I don't even try to keep up with it. We just tip the steward well. :lmao:

It's funny you should say that. I originally had one room at POR booked. My ds who is 8 would fit in the alligator bed just fine.
The issue became that we invited dd's best friend. She is a lovely girl and won't be any trouble, but it would be awkward for all of us to share a bathroom and feel comfortable I think. Plus, I know dh would be uncomfortable without a door to close to relax a bit.
So the idea of two rooms was born and while it's more than we usually spend, the privacy for all of us is worth it this time. If it were just the four of us we'd do fine but there's a different element with another teenager along.

AoA and the cabins were another choice. But in the end, I just kept picturing the girls make up and hair stuff and clothes all over the main room and having to tip toe while they slept. Again, they are nice kids but not exactly tidy:rotfl:
Oh I completely agree with you! What's the point if hubby can't relax on vacation? It's one thing to be bumping into your own.... And can you imagine two teenage girls going to sleep at night? :lmao: Wise choice!

View doesnt bother us, don't even usually open the curtains until we are ready to go out for breakfast at the food court in the morning, and then we will not come back until its nighttime, bar the occasional change of clothes. Rather save money for other stuff, plus walking to the food court along the mansions is better than any static view IMO.:thumbsup2

Ah yes, the "shut your bedroom door so I don't have to see it" school of parenting. I know it well:rotfl:

We'd be there this coming Sunday if we hadn't have to cancel to do DS medical issues, so those that will be there 5/27-6/2, enjoy the time for us also. Let us all know how your trips are and if you can include picks so I can dream for next year.

:wave2:

I've been quietly peeking in and reading along. Have to say, with all this recent talk of messy teens, I've been seriously :lmao:

DS (who I think was the only neat teen in the world) would describe that when DD walked in the door all her stuff would just explode all over the house! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Mine seems to be right on track then. Just the other day, I walked into her "play room" which is what our dining room turned into. My eyes must've looked like this :crazy2: ... after which, I slowly backed out of the room and sat down to keep from hyperventilating. The destruction caused by a 5 year old in such a relatively short amount of time is quite impressive.

Well, we are booked for September 30 through October 7 and taking advantage of the free dining e-mail I received.

I may be tweakings things up and try to arrive on September 29, with possibly a room-only reservation.

We haven't ever stayed at POR. I've always wanted to stay at POFQ, but I think the two 17-year-olds will enjoy the pool more at POR. I'm a little nervous about my choice....while the rooms look great, I'm kind of OCD about things being put away and the lack of storage space is making me a little nervous!

I ended up with a standard view room, 7 nights, 6-day base tickets, and DDP for a hair under $2500. I'm very pleased with that! (2 adults and 2 teens).

Can anyone compare the size to Coronado Springs? If they are about the same size, then that will be doable for sure.

To those with messy children (99% of parents have those I think :rotfl2:), I feel your pain - I am also in the school of "shut the door so I don't have to see that hurricane-worthy mess" ::yes::

I just wanted to first say thank you to Andre and everyone else for all of the awesome (and accurate!) information on POR - I have learnt so much! :thanks:

Second, we are getting so excited for September!! Cannot wait to experience POR for the first time (we're also going to the waterparks for the first time!):cool1:

I've stayed at both and the size is pretty much the same to me. What I prefer about POR over CSR is that there is soooo much more shade. We go in August and the walk to the pool/main building is much more pleasant from Alligator Bayou to me.

I also think you made a great decision with the pool. I've been over to POFQ but I didn't enjoy the grounds or the landscaping nearly as much, and found the pool more suited to small children. My ds was 6 and said the slide didn't look big enough. It's a lovely quiet resort, but I think teens would probably like the food court and pool at POR much better:)

Also, we really enjoyed our CSR stays but like POR that much more. I also loved our deluxe stays but I am happily going back to POR this summer.

The Surrey Bikes have canopies, so are great even though the main route does not give much shade. The bicycles are allowed onto the smaller pathways, so especially around Alligator Bayou there's plenty of shade.

And the Fishin' Hole speaks for itself:

Andre

SWEET! Thank you do much for that pic!

Staying at POR in the Royal room. I can't wait to see my girls' face when they walk into their Princess room!!!

Photo request- can someone going soon get a pic of the pin lanyards available at the general store? I'll need to pick one for my son for his arrival goodie bag. Already got one for my daughter from DS.com.

Me too! I was going to keep it from my DD (12) that I booked one...but I decided to show her and make sure it wasn't too "babyish." She loved it! I have not, however, shown my niece that will be traveling with us the room. That will be so exciting! :wizard:

Just curious, how does the size of POR compare to CSR?

Due to personal issues and changes to the size of our party, we are about to change our reservation again.. and for the last time!

We stayed at CSR last year and really enjoyed it. My husband and I enjoyed the "reprieve" the resort offers from the parks at the end of the day. Currently we are booked at AoA :faint: but we have to switch... which I am not all that disappointed about.

While I'd be happy to stay at CSR again, I am also keen to try POFQ or the Royal Rooms at POR (my first choice, actually).

People keep mentioning that POR is fairly large, multiple bus stops, etc. - but how much "worse" can it be than CSR? ;) We actually didn't mind CSR.. we didn't find the walking to be that bad and the multiple bus stops didn't bother us a bit.

How does POR compare... size, buses, etc? I am really liking the idea of the benefit of the ameneties of two resorts and it seems the PO resorts offer more to do (fishing, camp fires, etc) than CSR and that's attractive since we have more "down" days scheduled this time.

TIA for your thoughts!
