Andre, do you happen to know when they will release the schedule of May activities and movies? It would be nice to look at the list before we leave.

Officially on the 1st of May, although sometimes I manage to get a copy a little earlier, once it's been finalised. [Thanks K!]

GREAT! Too excited to see it. We got our "Mickey mail" today for the POR leg of our trip, and the kids are too excited!

I thought my "Mickey Mail" might arrive today since it was mailed on the 16th but it didn't, maybe Monday!!! ;)

I agree the coffee is awful. We just got back yesterday from royal room the room was nice but that coffee gives me shivers. Also the sheets in the bed are very poor quality. Anyone else have that complaint?

The coffee is horrible and you know it's horrible when the Nescafe tastes great. We had a refurbished room in AB and I thought the sheets were ok but smelled like bandaids.

Does your airline have a ban on cheese? (or are you flying in from outside the USA?)

Andre

No just didn't want to bring anything that has to be refrigerated. Oh well, it's not like I can't live without it.:thumbsup2

I am getting ready to place an order with Garden Grocer for our trip in 9-1/2 days. Will a gallon of milk fit in the fridge's at POR? Would I better off to pay more and get 2 1/2 gallons?

We're here! We're in bldg 34 which seems really far away from everything. The room is nice king bed, very spacious but the resort is so confusing! We can't seem to find the most direct way back to the room from the lobby, it just twists around so much that it seems very convoluted! Hopefully tomorrow we'll have better luck! I love the grounds and the atmosphere here though!

Have a fantastic time! I always feel that way at a new resort but you will get the hang of it quicklY:)

How was the construction in the lobby? I can't seem to find much updates on this.

Yeah I'm sure we'll figure it all out! DH is cranky this am - oh dear! He says he didn't sleep well at all. :( I slept like a log! Might be a long day with him hopefully the dessert party cheers him up! I know it will be great!

In fact, in the summer, the first two weeks in August are now covered by the 'value season' rate of $164 this year, whereas it was 'peak rate' of $185 all the way up to 13 Aug last year, so someone staying
(for example) the week of 5-12 August this year would find it considerably cheaper than last year.

But comparing the general like-for-like season rates, yes it's gone up, but only by around $5 per room/night as far as I can see. Everything else (park tickets/food/etc) you'd have to pay whether you stayed onsite or not.

So I suspect it's going to WDW at all which has got a lot more expensive, not POR in particular.

Andre

I see your point, but Disney is terrible in their pricing with families outside of what they have decided is the ideal family size-mom, dad, son, daughter (family of 4). Its b/c the week we go is F&W, and that week gets busier and more expensive every year and it used to not be that way in late Oct. Thanks again

What are they doing and when is it scheduled to be completed? Going in June. Thanks!

I can't remember what they are doing...but it should be done before June if I remember correctly...We arrive May 25 and I think what I read is that it would be done/finishing up around then.

Looking at the AB refurbishment schedule, it looks like some new ones will be complete by the time we arrive May 25. I do have a "refurbished room, please" request on my reservation...but I was wondering about requesting a certain Lodge #. I would prefer 16 or 17...do we think those will be complete by then? (One is tentatively scheduled for refurb starting today and taking two weeks, the other next week for the same amount of time.) I know things with contstruction/refurb can change...but was curious if we think the chances would be good. :)

eta: I do plan on doing online check in on May 15 and faxing the request to the resort as well. (How far in advance should I do this? 10 days? )

Hi all! And thanks, Andre, for a great site! We'll be back at POR June 1-10 - stayed here in Jan. when jus DH and I were there for marathon weekend and loved it. Can't wait to go back with the kiddos this time. Anyway, I have a few questions and didn't have luck finding the answers.

(1) Do all the AB rooms have the Murphy beds or just some of them?

(2) We are booked in a garden view room. How do I know which buildings have these, or do they all? I'd like a renovated room (shocker, right?) and have requested building 38, but I'm still nervous. Advice?

(3) With the new Murphy beds, would a bed rail fit or are there other suggestions for keeping our 3 yo from falling off?

(4) on the Murphy bed, do those stars light up?

That's all for now and thanks again! :)

The refurbished rooms have the Murphy beds and the ones that have not been renovated still have the trundles beds.

No, the only rooms with the fiber optics is the Royal rooms in the Mansion sections.

Sorry don't know the answers to the other two questions.

Phewwwwph. I just rea through all 250 pages of the original 2012yhread and all 28 pages of this one! (I wanted to have read it all before I posted, yes on a bit of a nerd!).

Staying at POR from sept 15 to 27 with free dining. Can't wait! Have a king room booked (just me and DF, our engagement trip) and like the AB rooms more than the mansions, but not going to make any requests? Jut see where the Disney room assigning fairies put us!
We originally had POFQ Booked but could t get our dates woth free dining so we moved to POR. I'm super excited. I stayed at POR for my first Disney trip and loved it (stayed at CBR for my second trip and was totally underwhelmed.

Less than 6 months to go!!! Wpohoooo!

Jut looking to booking our flight at the moment (from aus they're ridiculed) its looking like it will be cheaper for us to fly out on the 14th set to arrive MCO au like midnight on the 14th. I know we can't check into POR until the 15th. Does anyone know what time we can check in from. Of we get magical express and get in at 2am can we check in and drop our stuff off then? I know we won't get a room but could we grab a seat somewhere and nap until our room is ready? Maybe we're better staying offsite at the airport hotel that firš night and getting ME the next morning. Hmmm. Has anyone ever done this?

Single digit dance until our trip! We are SO excited to be staying at POR for the very first time. Thanks for all of the wonderful tips on here...especially Andre!
