Those murphy beds are not going to work for me! UGH! They are meant for children, why would they put them that high up when they are that small! I can just see my son rolling right off that! Great, just great!

Check with the resort and ask if you can have bed rails for the murphy bed. I've seen others mention bed rails in other threads.

I was recently able to switch our reservation from Pop to POR. Yay!

Today is the first I've heard of the Royal Rooms. Is there an additional cost to these or can you just add them to your reservation and hope that you get one? My DD and I will be at WDW in August.

TIA!

The Royal Guest Rooms are a room category and they cost more than the standard rooms. They are only located in The Magnolia Bend

Lou Mongello will be broadcasting his weekly video newscast live from POR's River Roost Lounge, and will be featuring Bob as a guest. I think he may even continue to broadcast the stream during some of the main lounge show too. Click here for the show notes.

So who else was watching last night? It was a fantastic show - in fact, I stayed up until 3am (UK) to see the end of Bob's first set. Well worth the tired eyes this morning.

There is an extra charge for the new royal rooms. I just used our free dining pin to switch from Pop Century to Riverside and I booked a standard view royal room and it was something like $305 more than a standard room for the 9 nights.
I'm soooo excited to see the new rooms. I will even settle for the first pictures from those staying in them when they open!!! :thumbsup2

mermaidwannabe - A refurbished room has a Murphy bed and non refurbished has the trundle and soon there will not be trundles.

Call back CRO and ask for a refurbished room; you will automatically be in AB already with your family of 5 plus infant. If you ask for a specific building no., they won't know why you want it.

If you make requests in broad brush strokes, it also gives the Room assigner more wiggle room if giving you what you want. They will have multiple buildings to choose from.

Reiterate at time of check-in that you want a refurbished room.

I should also note that they are just queen sized mattresses; the boxspring and bed frame remain. I was in a refurbished room last Nov/Dec. and I didn't really notice any difference - it overhangs three inches on either side.

So the queen sized beds in the AB refurbished room are just queen mattresses on full sized box springs??

Yes. It is only slightly annoying if you get a connecting rooms; the mattress overhangs about an inch over the door. You had to pull the door open around the mattress.

The person you quoted stated that her room was that way, but I've seen several other posts saying that the queen beds were all queen, including frame and box springs.

Andre you did not miss much Lou signed off before the second set started. I have a bit of an advantage when Lou goes late being west of Orlando. You will have the advantage this Sunday morning though. Did you stay up for the group photo of Lou, the box and Bob?

That was by far the best show Lou ever had it was a real party in the box last night! It was so cool to be up on stage with Bob watching him play his rocking piano! I did not think Lou could top the show he had at MK a few weeks ago his shows just keep getting better and better.

Ill be in disney this time tomorrow! Woot Woot!!

Hope you have a great vacation and the time of your life! I can't wait to see your photos when you get back.

I decided to add another night to our October reservation. Since there were no more preferred rooms available for the extra night I switched to garden view for the week.

I requested a room close to the lobby. Do you think there is a chance we could end up in one of the preferred buildings without the preferred room type?

Browneyedgirl - I have to agree. Last June, 5 of us stayed in AB 16 but we are older then 15 so with the trundle you can sleep all 5 but with the Murphy we are now going to need two rooms. Bummer! We were planning 12 nights for June2013 and looks like we will drop that back to 7. At least we are at POR even though the stay is shorter then we wanted. Any thing other then A Deluxe sleep 5 adults now?

WDW will get 14 days between the two rooms but will miss out on 5 days of park hopper and 5 days of meals for 5 people. There loss! I wonder if they thought out all options when they did this? Did they really know how many adults slept on those trundles?

The Ft Wilderness Cabin sleeps many. The new value resort, Animation, they are building will have the suites available first; the rate seems low possibly because the resort will still be under construction. All Star Music has a room for maybe six but the beds are convertable chairs (this is the least expensive option). Coronado has suites.

We were there 3 weeks ago in a refurb room in Mangnolia Mansion and I can confirm that the base and the upper mattress are queen size. Maybe what the person was confused about was that the bottom mattress is on a plinth which is slightly smaller than the base mattress, this allows you to stand beside the bed easily without having your feet right up against it, and also stops you from putting stuff (or losing stuff) under the bed.

In October there's a chance, yes. I suspect during times of full occupancy it will be less likely though.

Thanks all for your kind help and I will look into those but we would really rather stay at POR. We will just stay a shorter time and as I stated in my post, WDW will just get less of my money. Maybe we will be lucky and the next refurb at POR will be suites?

Thats good to hear! I was hoping they didnt just slap queen matresses on and call it a queen bed :)
