We wanna book another trip for next year in Feb. The website wont allow us to book for 2013. Is it possible to call directly?

You can book a room-only reservation up to 499 days before check-in. You have to call CRO. You put down the first night's deposit, which is standard and you will be quoted the highest rack rate.

When the rates for the following year are released in August of each year, the rates will be adjusted and you can then convert it into a package if you wish.

That is what happens when you book the land/sea package through the cruise line. You can now book cruises up through 2013, but you cannot book the package for the land portion. For my cruise next year, my cruise package is locked in with the land package as a room-only. When I want to change it to a package, I call in August and convert it over to get the dining plan and tickets.

They will be ready way before that time. They will be in two buildings only in that area. Oak Manor, and Parterre Place. You can see more at this website for concept pics of what it will look like as well as where these two buildings are located on the resort property.

yes they will be ready by March 9. We have the same room booked for March 23. They will be in Parterre (sp) and Oak.

Mickey Mail is when you get your final packet from Disney with your luggage tags and vouchers.

Are any of the rooms in AB refurbished? My TA is telling me that the only rooms that are refurbished are the Royal rooms which will be not be opened during our stay.

We are planning on going the end of May. My question, when we make our reservations toward the end of Feb, should we request a refurbed room in the Mansions or do you think that we will get one without the request as long as we say we would like to be in the Mansions? We like the Mansions better than the AB.

All of the mansion building rooms will be refurbished by May - so if you get a room there, it will be a refurbished one.

The menu at Boatwright's is a little limited. But the quality of the food is amazing. And the crawfish bites are addictive.

So if you are going with a group where there are a few individual discerning tastes, probably not. If there are just a couple of people, I'd say (for me anyways) yes.

Boatwrights is fantabulous! My wife had the prime rib - the best she's ever had. We are going back in the fall and not staying at POR, but this is the only table service restaurant that we are certain about going to this trip.

OK, so I'm a bit confused (not unusual ). In the 2012 Passporter, it says the Royal rooms are in POFQ, but this thread tells me that the Royal Rooms are in two of the mansions in POR. Is it both resorts?

Nope, only in POR, not POFQ!

Don't worry, it's not you, it's Passporter that is confused. Royal Rooms will be located in Oak Manor and Parterre Place at RIVERSIDE only, nowhere else.

Since I am going in the heat of late summer, we will be spending a lot of time cooling off at the pool. Is there an abundance of life jackets for kids or should I bring my own? Also, if I bring my own, do you think they will be safe hanging on the railing outside our room to dry?

Well, we leave for POR this coming Monday! I'm so excited as this is my first trip back to WDW since 1993, and it's the first time taking my 3 boys: 5, 3, 21-months. We're all super excited!

The ironic part, however, is that the POR will just be a "home away from home" for us. LOL. Why? Because my in-laws and hubby are from New Orleans (actually south of N.O.), and I was born and raised and live in Baton Rouge. We're still excited none-the-less.

It just so happened that we were supposed to stay at the AK, but canceled that reservation and re-booked with a TA in order to take advantage of the free dining plan (we decided we'd rather save the money now when our boys are young and won't care where we stay, and stay at the AK when they're a bit older). When we booked, it turned out that the POR package was $200 cheaper than for us to all stay at any of the value resorts.

So from Louisiana to "Louisiana" we go!

Oh, and I'll be bringing loads of my own coffee. I could not, in good conscience, leave my Community Coffee Carnivale Cake coffee at home.

But I do have one question: While I'm glad that we can continue our semi-traditional "beignets for breakfast", I'm curious as to what to expect in terms of the food. I'm sure it will be good, but I'll be honest and say that when you are from Louisiana, you tend to be very critical of Cajun and Creole food cooked in other states (usually we don't even bother eating it). So I'm wondering if we will be pleasantly surprised or if we should branch out at other eating places throughout WDW.
