Thanks for this great thread (and the others)! I feel like I already "know" POR even though we are about two weeks from our first stay.

Venom...was wondering if you could read over our fax request. I plan to send at exactly 5 days out.

Hello, and good day to you!

On XXXXXXXX(date), my Family and I will be visiting Walt Disney World, and having our first stay at your Port Orleans Riverside resort. We would be most grateful if you could possibly accommodate a few requests our room reservation. We have a paid Standard View – Royal Room as part of our reservation, which will be a surprise to our two young princesses! We have listed some simple requests below. We do understand that these are only requests, but we appreciate your time in reviewing them. We can’t wait to be at Riverside, and would greatly appreciate any “pixie dust” you can provide in making our wonderful vacation even more enjoyable and magical.

Our youngest daughter has glomular venous malformations…or clotting that occurs in her legs…that often causes pain in her legs after physical activity. We know we will be doing a lot of walking during the day to take in all of the magic that Disney has to offer, and may end up renting a stroller, so we would like to minimize our walks at the resort.
• As such, we would like to be as close as possible to the main building and bus stops to help our little princesses save some steps on our way back to our castle!
• A ground floor would be appreciated, in the event that we need to rent a stroller for our daughter.
• Finally, we’d love to have a non-handicap corner room to take advantage of the views from a second window of the beautiful resort. If none are available, we would place a higher preference on having a full tub/shower and dual sinks than a corner room.

yesterday, I was finally able to find availability for next week on orbitz (great rate tooslightly more than the value I had booked). It's always such a busy week in the World.

have never booked thru a TA, not sure if we would be treated 'differently' as to room requests vs CRO bookings. However, I spied this thread & decided it couldn't hurt to Fax our 'wish list'.

we have mobility/endurance issues, so I suggested that#16 or #85 (which seemed to be good location for food court & main pool) would be great choices for us, but added whatever they could do to assist us would be appreciated. Will have a car so the bus stop location isn't a major issue for our short stay there. have stayed @ PORFQ before but Riverside is rather daunting as to size.

Curious to see where we land, will try to remember to post back after our trip.

Getting ready to check into Coronado Springs in a few weeks and I realized that I never thanked Andre and Venom for their help with my letter last year! I sent the fax and actually had all of my requests granted. My son has special needs and it was SO nice to have our room ready when we arrived at 9am! Thank you so much for the help and advice!

Hello! This is our first time staying on WDW property and we are beyond excited that it is at Port Orleans Riverside. We are "Celebrating" life before my 2year old has a bone marrow transplant in the Spring and is thus quarantined for 6 months. Since she is immunocompromised I'd love to request newly laundered bedspreads for our room and my parents room.

Would this be a strange/rude request? We also have a garden view Royal room reserved though I'm not sure what preferences I would have as far as location. So I was thinking of just leaving it with "extra special care to cleanliness and having access to a sharps container." But I don't want to offend them thinking their rooms aren't always clean enough!

This is our first time staying in a hotel since she was diagnosed, so I'm a bit frantic.

Thanks for any advice, this was a fun thread to read before our December trip!

Oh great! All the pictures I saw of princess rooms seemed to still have the big spreads and the unwashed germs had me worried.

posting back, we received a 2nd floor 'standard - but nice view of front garden imo )corner room in bldg. #85 - mansions that was ready when we transferred over from VWL @ 10:30 am.

We are staying at the POR from Dec 4-9th so I'm writing up our rooms request letter to fax in a week before, probably on Nov 27th I will fax it in.

my concern is we booked through Orbitz and on MDE the reservation number is a small 6 digit code that WDW doesn't recognize.. What information should I put on our fax letter so that the recipient can locate both room reservations?
