Well, looks like my mind is made up. :)

oh these pictures bring back such great memories!!! DD and 3 DGDs and I stayed in building 18 two years ago. Had planned on staying in POFQ but it was undergoing renovations. At first I was really disapointed but when we got there and saw the resort it was the consenses of the group that THIS was THE place for kids!! Young and Old!! We were so well located there. A short walk in the morning to get coffee while DD got the girls ready for the day. And an even shorter walk to the bus stop for a magical start to a day...great place! wouldn't mind being there again!! Maybe the next trip after next August...already planning!!!

Great report and awesome pictures!!! You made me want to stay at POR! :goodvibes

Yes carriage rides are new since your last visit. The ride is a 30 minute scenic ride through POR & POFQ. It starts outside of Boatwrights and travels along the Sassagoula River down to FQ. It's offered from 6:00pm - 9:30pm, weather permitted. It seats up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children. Reservations are recommended. :flower:

We stayed at POR last Sept in Paterre Place Mansion. I don't have anything bad to say about POR except don't rent the small speed boats as they are so slow. We're giving POFQ a try this Sept so hope it is as enjoyable as POR was last year.

I have my fingers crossed for no hurricane dodging like last year.

Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Just curious-we're staying at POR in September. How far of a walk was it from your building to a bus stop and to the food court area? Thanks for the help!

From building 39 I'd say that it was less than 5 minutes to the North Depot bus stop and maybe a 10 minute walk to the food court, it was probably less.

It's hard to judge the walk to the food court because I was always stopping to look at everything and take a picture. It never felt long at all. My husband thought the walk seemed faster at POR than it did for us at CBR when we stayed in the Trinidad North building. I think it's just because the landscaping is so pretty at POR. :sunny: :sunny:

Thank you for those pictures. Did all the rooms get updated with new bedspreads and stuff? The last time I was there it looked more rustic and dark in the rooms.

Thank you so much for your detailed review and the awesome pictures! We're headed to AB POR in a few days..........WooHoo! I'm so glad that it sounds like we made a great decision on where to stay. :dancer:

Thanks for your review of POR. We are arriving on 8/8 for 7 nights. I requested the mansion side, water view. But, I must admit, I am a little ansy based on the various boards that I have read - some people love POR, other regret going. For the last 2 years, we stayed at GF and it has been 10 years since we stayed at "Dixie Landings". I am sure POR has changed since then. Does anyone have feedback on the mansion side?

Thanks for your pictures and the great review! I just was unable to get POFQ for our December trip and was feeling bummed that we were staying at POR, but now I feel really excited! We will definitely request AB!

We have stayed in POR at least 7 times split evenly between AB and the Mansions. I love both......sigh.....so glad you had a great time.

I have a wierd question. If you're staying in an AB room there seems to be a bench/trunk. Does it open or have drawers for storage? I'm always looking for extra storage space. Thanks.
