My sister's kids are going on some type of kid's pirates adventure from Port Orleans this AM. She was pretty sketchy on the details but it sounds right up DS8's alley. Does anyone know anything about this? Costs? Is it everyday? etc.....
Does anyone here know anything about this????

Thanks!!!

I have signed my kids up for this excursion on December 23. It is held three times a week, one day being on Sunday mornings. They last for two hours and cost about $29. I have read two versions of it though. One being a pirate cruise with kids getting a clue and traveling by boat to hunt for a "treasure". The other version has to do with a New Orleans theme where they are cruising the "bayou" as jokers. Both sound cute, but my kids hope for the pirate theme.

Hope this helps.

My 6yo dd is doing this next week! :thumbsup2

It is now a "Bayou Pirate Adventure" and very similar to the other pirate cruises for kids at the other resorts. It used to be the Sassagoula River Cruise and was all about searching for the "jester's way of life" but it switched about 4 months or so ago.

I'll post an update in a couple of weeks after we get back!

subscribing...my two boys will be going in January and the descriptions differ on different websites...
Thanks,
Sue

thanks for the info everyone!!! Minniemouse, I'll be looking forward to your review. Are you going to be doing a trip report?

That's the plan. I'm inking everything into my Passporter pockets right now and organizing all my paperwork. We leave Friday evening for a night in a hotel near the airport and fly down to MCO on Saturday morning!

 Not sure how I'm getting everything done!!!

My boys did it and it was alot of fun for them. They get Mickey Pirate Ears, get on a "Pirate Ship" and take of on an adventure. The cast members are responsible and the kids all wear life jackets. They stop at differnt ports of call and search for treasure. They eat lunch too. The $29 quoted above seems right, and was so worth it (and then some, my husband and I had 2 WHOLE HOURS to ourselves at MK)
Definately worth doing-but book ahead. We stayed at POFQ, and did the one at GF.

See, this is why I love the DisBoards. I find out things that I probably wouldn't know about. My boys would love to do something like this and I hope it's still going on next December when we plan on going back. :wizard:

My boys did it when the were 4! And were fine! Disney said it was rare that a child came (even a shy child) and didn't go. They get caught up in all the Yo Ho Ho and fun and just love it!!

How is this booked?? Through my TA or another way? My kids and nephew would love this and we are staying are POFQ. Thanks for any info.

I will be at CBR next October (just booked today yeah!) and my son doesn't know it yet but he is going on the pirate cruise from there. I believe to make reservations you should call 1-407-WDW-PLAY. I can't wait to hear all about other people's reports. It sounds like a lot of fun!
