Port Orleans Gator Attack?

Back when I did my CP, one of the guys who lived across the hall...we called him Dundee. Get it?

Anywhoos...he was a lifeguard at SAB and one day he was chased up a tree by a baby gator in the pool area. Wasn't even a big one from what I heard...may the length of a coffee table from nose to the tip of it's tail.

Trust me...he never lived that one down.

In Sept 2006 we saw a small gator in the canal by the quiet pool at BCV...it was attrating quite an admiring crowd:)

So, when does V get her quarter?

The guys told me that they were full time gator wranglers. That was back in the days when the old water park was open. I forget it's name...it was the one that had a lot of problems with critters in the water.
River Country? I also wished I could go there and it closed right before our trip. Oh well.

No one doubts there are gators on WDW property.

I think my "urban legend" suggestion stands, as far as a recent attack goes.

Is it also true that gators get the 40% discount codes? No wonder I haven't gotten one.

Isn't that one of the reasons there is no swimming in any of the lakes. Has anyone seen or heard of any at CBR?

No. The main reason has to do with bacteria levels in the constantly warm waters. There are a couple of nasty things people have caught in the past in the bacterial soup of ponds there.

We've seen the alligator at the BCV several times. We've also seen the alligator at the MK in the water that surrounds Tom Sawyer Island (over by the wooden walkway the comes from Splash Mountain/Thunder Mountain area.

And, here in NW Louisiana, they have caught a few in our neighboring areas after a few dogs were missing. Rather big gators, too. About 7 feet or more.

We lived in Orlando for 18 years and Gators are everywhere, my friend made me take a penalty stroke when we were golfing because I refused to hit my ball that ended up about 10 feet from a big gator sunning itself:) Wait to to get into mating season, they really start showing up in interesting places like pools and yards:scared1: Around WDW you have to worry more about Water Moccasins then gators, but always remember is a gator chases you on land to run in a zig zag pattern.

That's how big the rats are here in NYC :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well they are in WDW ! Here is a pic of under my car at the GF parking lot from September 2007.

What is that thing? I would freak out if I came across that.:scared1: Just looking at the picture gives me the willies.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: That pic is horrifying! What did you do? Shudder! Shudder!

It's just a baby! It's kind of cute :goodvibes

That being said, people confuse gators and crocodiles. Gators are lazy. They mostly scavenge, and wont "hunt" something unless it pretty much swims in front of them. So unless a parent threw their child at the gator (the prefered response to some mid-day meltdowns), a gator attack is not very likely.

Not to mention since I live 15 minutes from WDW I probably would have seen something on the news. It was front-page news when Disney started letting men grow mustaches LOL.
