They never shared in the mornings (pre rope drop) while we were there (Oct 14-23). Even if they had, there is no way to ensure your friends could physically get on the same bus you were on depending on crowds. I would figure out a place to meet at the parks before you go in.

POFQ is my favorite resort. We just got back from our second stay there and loved it like always. We were in building 5 on the 3rd floor. It was super close to the main building and food court. While it did overlook the area where they showed the movies, it was never too loud. I slept through it easily on the few nights we were back easily and I am not a very deep sleeper. Thanks for posting about your room location facing where they show the movies. I was worried about the sound being too loud.

Food court was great, though it seemed the poor CMs were dealing with a lot of people who had NO idea what they were doing. Saw multiple arguments from guests who did not understand how to use their dining plans. The CMs were doing the best they could to fix things and keep the lines moving, but I felt really bad for them at times. Never had an issue with long wait times or with getting my mugs refilled quickly. We have seen this before as well. I feel bad for the CM's

Buses were great. Max wait times were in the 15 minute range, but that only happened twice, and one time of 20 minutes (but that was right after Wishes). Normally we only waited 5 or less. We never had to stand on the buses either. Good to hear

Room was well cared for and cleaned by mousekeeping. We even had a few towel animals! SO cute and fun to return from the parks to see them!

Only issue we had was with concierge and getting bad information. I was told we could purchase boxes for shipping from the gift shop and could do so the night before. Well, the gift shop will give them to you for free BUT it is first come first serve... and they had none when we needed to ship things home. That said, when I spoke to a manager about the misinformation, they went above and beyond looking for a box for us. They did find one and we commenced shipping a whole lot of stuff back home (I bought WAY too much).

I always feel at home at POFQ and am hard pressed to stay anywhere else.

Welcome Back :goodvibes

Thanks for the info - maybe when we go to WDW next year and stay at POFQ we will ask the gift shop for a box to ship items home the 1st night we are at the resort. If they have none - then repeat the procedure each day, until we have one.

Where do you ship the box after you pack it up ?
Do you bring your own packaging tape or can POFQ provide it ?

After much deliberation, debate, and consideration, for This trip I have decided to switch my reservation from the Poly club level, to POFQ with an upgrade to Deluxe dining plan for our October 2012 trip.....we are a group of 4, with two of my boys older teens, and I felt the space is most important for this trip. My girlfriend and I can have our own space and privacy, and my teens can have their own beds and privacy too. I am excited for my first mod stay, I am usually deluxe/ club level all the way, but I couldn't pass up the $1,000.00 savings either with airfare so expensive for me. (I fly from western Canada, and flights are a crazy 750$ per person right now!) I have never don the Deluxe DDP before and am excited to try some new dining options....also, new rooms and the boat to DTD, along with the smallness of this resort make for what I think are great reasons to change! Looking forward to my first stay and I will definitely let others know what I thought upon my return! :goodvibes

You bring it to the concierge desk and get a UPS shipping form that you will fill out. They will then put it in the system and UPS will pick it up on their next scheduled pickup. They also have packing tape and fragile labels for the boxes at the desk.

Ours shipped on Monday (they had already done their pick up for Saturday and don't pick up on Sunday unless you pay an extra fee) and we received it today. So 2 days from Orlando to North East Tennessee.

Thanks for letting me know about the credit card, we paid for the trip on our Disney card, but since we won't be going again for several years after this time, so I wanted to put in on my normal rewards card.

We just returned from a fantastic week at POFQ. This was our first time at this particular resort, but certainly will not be our last. We loved it. We had stayed at ASM, CS, and CBR previously and liked POFQ so much better! The size is much more manageable after a long day in the parks. We were in building 4 within EASY walking distance to both the buses and the main building. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone!

Can't wait to book our next trip!

Glad to hear you enjoyed POFQ

This year's Halloween Recreation Activities Schedule is now up on the news page on my Port Orleans site (www.portorleans.org/news.php#281011).

The November schedules will be up in the next few days too (movies will be at 7pm during November, in case anyone is making any specific plans).

Hello peeps :goodvibes

Well after 16 glorious days at POFQ we have been back 3 weeks .... and booked again! Roll on September 2012.

I was chatting with one of the managers at POFQ earlier this month and told him we would be back again next year, and he said that they are planning some 'changes' to the landscaping and grounds. He said it is going to look 'quite different'. Anyone know what they are planning to do?

We are heading to French quarters in the next few weeks...I am assembling my grocery order but I am not sure of the size of the fridge in the newly renovated rooms...I assume they are small but maybe someone who has been recently can give me a better idea?

Thanks!

We are here now and have a gallon of milk standing upright on the bottom. 2 shelves above that. Plenty of room in the door for soda cans. It is the taller size fridge, not a small square one.

2 weeks and we will be on our way to POFQ for the first time for our Disneymoon!!! I can't wait!!!! :goodvibes

I agree. We went on a Disneymoon 13 years ago!

I love the landscaping as it is now at POFQ. I hope that they don't make it look too different. A quiet pool would be nice, but I guess that's not landscaping, is it?

Only 14 more days to go until my 6 yr. old grandson and I will be at POFQ. Last April and Nov. we stayed at PORS. Loved it but it really was too big for us after being at the parks all day until they closed. From what I've read here seems like we should love FQ just as much- if not more.
A question- we are going to the character breakfast at the Poly- is it faster and easier to go to Epcot by bus and then hop onto the monorail or go to MK then the monorail?
If anyone else will be there alone with a youngster- maybe we can get the kids together for the playground. He is so happy- he'll be celebrating his 7th birthday there.
Thanks

We have till May of next year, but can hardly wait. We've been to all of the moderates & this is our favorite.
