Just booked our 3rd stay here! We did Christmas 09, then I was lucky enough to get one of the new refurbed rooms in Jan for Marathon weekend, and got a great AP rate for this December!
It really is a gem....CM's are great, size of resort....transportation to DTD...so any one reading this thread and cant decide on a Mod....you will love it!!!

DH and I just added FD to our January stay. :thumbsup2
Does anyone know what items from the food court are considered "snack" items?
I am really more interested in breakfast items, but will take any suggestions.

Anyone have any recommendations for a local pizza place that will deliver? (Not interested in the pizza from the food court :flower3:)

Thanks!

So, we have decided to change our Feb 2012 travel plans from a DLR vacation to a WDW vacation...free dining gets us every time! :rotfl:

Ressies made at POFQ. This will be our 1st FQ stay. We've been at POR 2x and AKL 1x. Looking forward to our stay at FQ!

Hope to learn a lot from you all....

We've ordered from Pizza Hut in the past from Pop Century...we just met them in the lobby. We go the number from the phonebook in the room.

We ate the pizza from the food court in May. My husband, who doesn't like Pizza Hut, raved about how good it was. He ordered it while I was with the kids in the arcade, but I think he said they made it there (not frozen) and maybe had a pizza oven? I will have to check with him about that part. It was good though!

Hooray for you - hope you have a great trip and that you will share your experience with all of us. Happy Countdown:cheer2:

Thank you, Cindy!
I'm going to Vegas Sunday through Friday for a conference, then just a few days at home to get ready to go to POFQ, so I know the time will fly by. I'm toying with the idea of a trip report, but I've got to convince myself that anyone would be interested in my adventures and that I can be entertaining enough to pull it off! At the very least, I'll post my POFQ thoughts here.

Thanks Cinderella's sliper. We booked for a week, and have 5 of our dining reservations made. We our so excited about our first stay at POFQ.L&G's Dad.

Thanks everyone!

We are from Chicago, so we have Giordano's here so it would seem strange eating Chicago Style pizza in FL! :rotfl2:

I was just thinking along the lines of Pizza Hut or Papa John's or something. We will just let our fingers do the walking when we are there ;)

Thanks again :goodvibes

you will LOOOOVE the POFQ!!! everyone has their own opinions, but mine is that its the best resort on property. the smallest, quiet, best bussing (IMO) and you get two sinks in the room where in the other moderates i dont think you do..i could be wrong though. i love the french quarter feel....wouldnt stay anywhere else!!

I believe CSR is the only Mod that does not have the double sink.

I read on another thread that they go up after US Thanksgiving (I have no idea when that is). They were up when I went last year at the end of November.

We went in November 2007 earlier in the month. They were already starting to decorate so we watched the transition over time. This was around Veteran's Day (11/11). We came home, I believe on 11/16 that year and we were able to attend the MK Christmas party, so it was DEFINITELY decorated. We saw the Osborne lights as well, awesome AK tree, etc.

I'm getting more and more excited for our trip at the end of this month! It will be our first stay at a moderate. We had an early morning flight and were going to book a room at the airport the night before. This week I realized that we were going to spend as much for the room at the airport as the room at POFQ! I quickly called my TA and had her book us an extra night at the beginning of our trip and changed our flight to an afternoon flight a day earlier. (No charge since we're flying Southwest - we actually have a $2.70 credit!) I'm so excited that the magic will be starting earlier! It actually saves us money since we have the free dining and have an ADR at Kona that we were going to pay OOP on our original arrival day. We also get to enjoy a full day at the parks instead of just the afternoon and evening. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!! :yay:

Hello Schmoodle - sounds like a busy few days. Personally, I love reading about others experiences as it helps me live vicariously, whether I am on a countdown, or circumstances prevent me from visiting as soon as I would like.

Hi to Lily & Giny's Parents - we love POFQ and hope you have a wonderful experience.

Thanks to all the other posters who generously shared their opinions and experiences.
