I snapped some photos early in the morning on our last day... this is my favorite:

Thanks to all who have contributed information about POFQ! I love seeing the information about the refurb, we'll be staying there in about 2 months, and I was delighted to see that the rooms now all have 2 queen beds!
Looking forward to my stay....

Oh! We thought the beds were fine, but we all hated the pillows. And the bed cover was too scratchy whenever it snuck above the sheet and blanket. We survived though. ;)

Ok we are all set to book POFQ for our upcoming trip!! Should be next week when we take the plunge.

I am excited and a bit nervous. We are POP Century fans, so this will be our first time at POFQ. Our friend is coming with us and he fell in love with this resort and is not a Value type of traveler. LOL
So we decided to upgrade ourselves to be at the same resort he is staying.

I do have a few questions, if you don't mind. (sorry I have tried to read the pages and pages, but after a while your mind goes numb...lol)

1. The bus stops, I see there is 2? Does that mean multiple buses use the same stop? Like AK and Epcot use the same stop? And we just look to see what the bus says...where it is going?
(at POP each park has it's own stop) So I just need to make sure we get on the right bus.

2. Approximately how far is the walk to POR? (please use time for a SLOW walker) ;)

3. Are there any King rooms in building 4? (I do believe this is the one I want).

Thank you I think that is all for now. I am sure I may have more though.

Oh, yes I do, does anyone have the link to a map of all of WDW property? The one where I can see where everything is in relation to POFQ.

Thanks!! :yay:

bus stops are two enclosures that are right next to each other. The forward stop has the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios buses. The back stop has the Epcot, Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon/Downtown Disney buses. All of the buses go around a small loop right in front of resort main building entrance. You can read the bus destination as they round the loop.

I'm guessing that it is a fifteen minute walk from building 4 to the near side of POR at a slow pace. The answer is not so simple as POR is much larger and where you are going is defines the time. The other thing to remember is that you can take the DTD between the two resorts also.

Anyone know if there are any popular buildings for a standard room ? I know building 7 looks like the farthest building, I dont think I want that one ?

THank you. I would be looking to go to the food court. The make your own pasta looks good. ;)

I see many people complaining about the pillows. We discovered that the problem is really the pillow cases. If you remove them, the pillow is a regular pillow. For our next trip, we will be packing pillow cases!!!

Yep, just wait at the appropriate bus stop which serves the park you want (there are two stops, right next door to each other) and watch for the signs on the front of the buses - they are visible from plenty far away.

2. Approximately how far is the walk to POR? (please use time for a SLOW walker) ;)

875 yards from one food-court door to the other. About 20 mins for a slow walker I guess. Definitely worth a visit. Or you can catch a ferry boat if you prefer, takes about 5 mins - make sure it's going the right way though or you'll end up in Downtown Disney instead.

3. Are there any King rooms in building 4? (I do believe this is the one I want).

Yep, I assume you've paid for a King Bed room? If so, just request building 4 and keep your fingers crossed. But honestly, nowhere is that far to walk at POFQ.

The latest one I have is Sept 2010: http://www.portorleans.org/images/WDWPropertyMap.pdf

When we buy our gifts and souvenirs at the park where at POFQ will we have to go pick them up from. Is it the giftshop?

Precisely why you should swim with your mouth CLOSED :rotfl: Birdie potty! :rotfl:

:lmao:

Andre, I just want to thank you again for keeping this great thread (and your website) updated with all the current news. I am a POFQ devotee now, having been drawn into all the fab info and pics you posted a couple of years ago.

Can't wait for our next stay there. Less than 3 months now .... and counting :yay:

I guess I should point out that they've been on www.portorleans.org for ages, I just linked to them... Just sayin' :)

Andre

I am very grateful too. Thank you Andre, for the website, thread, and your replies of intelligence. I just turned 40 and I guess my eye sight is going like they all warned. I love the portorleans.org website. I went back and looked at hundreds of pictures, some movies, and selected a new desktop picture; however, I did not find the selected pictures that you posted of the coffee machine and the 4-cup serving size packages of coffee. I am not so sure that glasses will help me either - so I will remain in denial, unless Sue pounds the another nail into my coffin.

Sue:
I am doing the same thing!!
(with the coffee AND the micromanaging!)
(Dunks makes the pods now too!)

I checked in a couple of dunkin stores. I also did a search on-line where I read that the one cup pods where a trial in October 2010 - and are discontinued. The dunkin coffee K-cup may be available in the future! Perhaps I need a pair of readers as suggested previously. Where are you finding the dunkin coffee pods?

Just back from 4 nights and really enjoyed this resort. We got building 6, top floor, which is what I asked for. Everything is so close and it was very quiet. The food court wasn't large but never felt crowded. Beds were super comfy but the pillows were a little too full. The toilets were turbo-charged and frightened my daughter!!!!

I still have some left from the fall. My mom went to Dunks and bout them thinking they were for the Keurig. I just held on to them-have just enough for 1 pot each day.
When the Dunks KCups come out I will be a happy camper!

we just got a free upgrade from pop to a mod resort and picked pofq. i spent the past year reading and researching things on pop and now have a week to find out about pofq lol.

can anyone tell me how long it takes to drive to the parks from here? we plan on using our car rather than the bus.
