5 days! 5 days! 5 Days!

I cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

My husband and I are taking my 3 y/o GS down there Feb 4th-11th. So we are two days from arrival and my grandson insists on calling me every single day with the same question: "We gonna see Mickey Mouse morrow?":rotfl::rotfl:

He's driving his parents crazy and refuses to believe them when they say it's a few more days. They keep telling me to come get him NOW, before they kill him.:rotfl: My son called me this past weekend and I could hear my GS crying in the background. When I asked him what was wrong, he told me he was about to strangle my GS. He was taking care of both the 3 y/o and his baby brother, while his wife was doing errands. He went in to check on my GS and found he had pulled a chair over to his closet and emptied every shelf and both clothing rods and was just tossing stuff over his shoulder onto the floor. He had also emptied all of his dresser drawers and toy box. He said he was deciding what he wanted to take to WDW with him.:rolleyes1:rotfl: My son said his room looked like a cyclone had went through it. Everything he owned was all over the floor. My normally very laid back, well behaved grandson then threw a royal temper tantrum when told that it wasn't time to pack yet and he had to clean the mess up before his mom got home.:rotfl: (I bought him a little Heys Cars rolling bag and a Cars backpack, but they are at my house. His parents are spending the night at my house and bringing his clothes to my house tomorrow night and we'll be packing his stuff then. We'll have to leave for the airport about 2:30am Saturday morning.)

I have been staying at POFQ for years and go several times a year in the off season. After my last few trips I can say that the popularity of POFQ has really lessened the resort experience. Bus stop, boat, food court, pool, etc are all so much more crowded. The beauty of POFQ in the off season was low occupancy. So sad to see the resort be like this. I will be grateful when some other resort takes over the popularity contest!!

I agree. Maybe with the refurbishment of POR going on and the addition of the Royal Guest Rooms there, POFQ will go back to being a bit more quiet. I am going to POR in Oct. only because I couldn't get POFQ with the free dining PIN I have. I know I'll like POR but I'll be missing POFQ. :sad1:

How many snack credits for the 6 beignets? I would hope one based on the cost.

Beignets - Six Beignets - $4.29
Beignets - Three Beignets - $2.99

Is that a temporary "disney deal" they are promoting, or is that something they advertise as the current DDP snack credit... that is not cool!

4 days to go can't wait...

I was thinking of doing the carriage ride, but I cant find any info on it. mostly interested in the price and where does it go, just around the resort?

Yay! Going back to POFQ!!!!! April 21-27! Hoping for low crowds and warm weather! Can't wait to get back to our fave mod!!! :goodvibes

What room would you guys recommend in the Standard category? We have decided to try POFQ in April.

It's not "advertised" as such by Disney. Have you seen the sticky in the restaurant threads with most current snack credit items listed?

As far back as I can remember, 2008, I guess, when I have used a dining plan 3 beignets have been considered 1 snack credit while the 6 have been 2 snack credits. Better to pay OOP if you want 6. I've always been able to get a milkshake at POFQ for a snack credit, last time was in October. Here's another thing....I was able to get a milkshake for my drink with the dining plan lunch in October: milk shake, entree, and dessert for 1 CS credit.

From the Disney website: Intimate horse-drawn carriage rides depart from Boatwrights Dining Hall for a 30-minute trip up and down the scenic Sassagoula River. Each carriage can hold either 4 adults—or 2 adults and 3 small children. The trip costs $45 USD per carriage.

They don't even give you the phone number on the website (geesh? What are they thinking?) but it is 407-WDW-PLAY (407-939-7259). You have to reserve this in advance on your credit card and if you don't show up, your card will be charged any way. Or you can always take a chance and just show up and see if a carriage is available, but I would only do this if you didn't have your heart set on doing the ride.

Dh and I did the carriage ride back in April 2009 for our anniversary. The driver gave us a choice of touring POR and POFQ or just POR. We decided to do both, since we were staying in POFQ. It was very pleasant and I would do it again.

Building 2 or 5 are next to the pool and close to the food court.

so small there aren't really bad buildings. The best we have had was Bldg 5 near the food court. The pool, food court, buses and parking lot were all very close. We always have a car and drive to DHS, DAK and Epcot. Bldg 4 is near the parking lot. The landscaping is so nice that you really don't notice the parking lot.

Since POFQ and POR are sister resorts, can the mugs be used at both or should we fill up at POFQ before going over to POR to use their food court? Also, last time we were at WDW (CSR), you could get refills at the pool bar. Can this still be done or are refills only available at the food courts.

Thanks in advance..........

The refillable mugs can be used at either food court, but there are no self-serve drink dispensers at the pool bars.

Hi there! I'm new here and I was hoping someone could help me figure out what to do. I have two rooms on two reservations for the first week of June. Both are booked preferred room. I called and got our two reservations linked, requested adjoining rooms, and I also requested a mansion building. The CM said that would be Magnolia Terrace. I now know that preferred location rooms are only in the AB section. While location is important to us, queen beds are too, and it doesn't look like all of the preferred location buildings will be done by the time we are there. Should I call back and change my request to AB 14 and run the risk of getting a double-bed room or should I just leave it? I don't want to request myself out of something I paid for, but I'm not sure where I could get put in MT. Thanks a bunch for any advice you have!

Jessica
