Port Orleans Carriage Rides??

Anyone ever have a larger party go in on a Carriage ride? We were thinking four adults and two children and a baby. Do they allow children to sit on laps??

Do they offer these at Christmas time and how do you book them?

The carriage ride at Port Orleans holds up to 4 adults or 2 adults and three small children. I've seen them during many stays, and have never seen a carriage with the size party you're looking for.

I'd reserve in advance reservations since they seem to be pretty popular. And perhaps you could ask them as well about the number of people. You could call WDW-PLAY, just not sure how far in advance you can get.

We did it in July with two adults and three children and I don't think you could get anymore than that to fit in the carriage. We called WDW-PLAY 90 days in advance. I know when we went people were trying to get same day carriage rides and they were sold out.

Do the carriage rides cover all of Port Orleans - Riverside and French Quarter?

As noted by previous posters, I know that reservations for the carriage rides can be made. But, are they always needed? My DH and I are going in a couple of weeks for our anniversay, and may have some "free time" on a Monday night. I am trying not to "over plan" every minute of the trip, so I am not sure I want schedule a ride. Just looking for some opinions . . . Thanks!

I just booked it for Dec 1 for dh and myself. It seems so romantic! It is $30 for a 1/2 hour. I have never been on it but I have heard nice things. They have rides for larger parties over at Fort Wilderness. I think it is a hay ride minus the hay. I think the CM said that the one at POR holds 2 adults/3 kids or 4 adults total. For a real romantic touch the CM said you can bring your own beverages for the ride. (champagne, cocoa, whatever) I called 407-939-play to book. Oh, and unlike dining, this can only be booked at 90 days. I couldn't book it until it was exactly 90 days. Patty
