Or for our American friends, Refrigerator!.

Hi all

We are about to book for Port Orleans Riverside for July 07, 2 Adults and 3 sprouts, I have what I think is a pretty good price from Virgin, 4056.00 for 21 nights. I have to add tickets on but for the flight and accom it pretty good.

I have a couple of points if you will allow me to drone on. Firstly we did want to spend a few days (maybe a week) on the coast somewhere, but for this, the price for 3 weeks jumps to 5059.00 (1 week in St Petes, Tradewinds Island Grand Resort and the other 2 weeks at Port Orleans Riverside).

I think it would be cheaper to book the POR for the full 3 weeks and 'abandon' the room in search of a coastal hotel for say 5/6 nights + car hire when we arrive. Has anyone done this and did it work, do Disney mind you leaving their hotel room empty for a week?

And secondly (for those of you still awake) We will hire a fridge for the 2 (or 3) weeks at POR, what is the current price of tis does anyone know, and can you stock it up easily with breakfast/lunch stuff, bread, croissants, cereals milk and so on.?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Steve, Jac, Beth Ellie and Josh Posh

You get a fridge in the mod rooms for free now!! I was surprised to see that when I booked a room for Christmas at POR, applies to all mods I think.

If it works out cheaper to leave the room empty, do so, although I would tell them what you are doing just so nobody worries about your wellbeing!! Also, if you change your plans, ie go for a shorter time or not at all on a whim then you won't be in a pickle!!

Hi Fiona

Thanks for that, I must admit, I am sure I read somewhere that the fridge was included, but cant seem to find out 100%. Virgin did say yesterday that there is a charge (still worth it though).

Thanks

Steve

Be careful, dont let Virgin charge you extra for the use of a fridge, because like others have said Disney provide it Free of Charge.

When you check-in just confirm it with the CM. If not which I doubt very much you could just hire one then.

I was at the POR in May and we had a free fridge too. Like others have said i personally would wait untill you have arrived to see if there is one already in your room. You can always rent one from Disney"

All moderates provide a fridge free of charge. In any case even if there was a charge, like there is at the value resorts, then this is direct to the hotel and is in no way connected with who ever you book with, so VH will not charge you for this.
