Port or Starboard side in Mediterranean?

We recently did the Mediterranean cruise on the Disney Magic. Our room was on the port side (LHS facing forward).

More often than not, our "view" was of the dock / landing. On the final morning, our "view" was of the refuelling ship - not awesome opening the curtain to find someone staring almost right back at you.

So, I would possibly suggest starboard side.

The Mediterranean is one that I really don't think it matters that much because the ports themselves are industrial and not very pretty at all. The one exception I would say is Villefranche. We were also on the port side so had the nice view in Villefranche but the industrial ones (and the refueling ship) at other times.

I would agree.. it doesn't really matter. We were also on port side. In Barcelona, we did see a part of the city, not the boarding side. On sea day when going past the islands, you could see land on both sides of the ship. When docking in Italy, nothing was exciting on either side. When anchoring in Cannes, we did not have a view of Cannes from our room, but the sea, but I think that could change, based on how they anchor.
