I know I have read this before, but I didn't pay much attention to it. Is there a preferred side to be on for the best views?? We will be on the starboard side (7514) and just curious as to what type of views we will have at the various western ports.

Thanks,
KAren

I have heard alot of people say starboard because that is your best chance of seeing CC while your docked. We personally had it last time and this time my dh wanted to try port side.

We were on starboard last December. Since we backed into Nassau, we were on the "ocean side". This was great since there were two Navy ships docked on that side and we saw a bi-plane land. You could also see Atlantis.

We also backed into CC and we could see the island from our verandah.

I guess it depends on how the captain docks the ship.

We've stayed on both starboard & port sides & we definitely like starboard better. The view seems to be better & we liked the room setup too (we stay in the aft section Deck 6), also we felt less movement (although I'm not sure why!) Enjoy your cruise on either side!! Cathie & The Gang:wave2:

Starboard side -
St. Thomas, you get the lagoon and town view/St. Maarten - you get a loadng dock view or another docked ship/CC - lagoon/Key West - town view/Grand Cayman - ocean due to tendering/Cozumel - ocean and Yucatan Peninsula in distance.

Worst part is when you dock on Saturday, you get a lot of noise from the trucks pulling in and the dockworkers loading supplies at around 5:30 - 6:00AM - a very unpleasant wake up to the reality that you will be leaving the ship shortly!!!! I guess it would be unpleasant anyway you woke up knowing that!!

Starboard is by far the better side, just because of the view of CC... You can stand on your verandah and take pictures of the island... which are wonderful and i personally love it when you are in prt in Nassau and you can see the Atlantis from your Verandah also. We have stayed in an room on teh starboard side for our first cruise and will now always stay on Starboard side.:sunny:
