We are sailing on The Magic in Septemer on back-to-back cruises. We haven't sailed on DCL in many years and understand thins have changed.

We are platinum, but understand we no longer get the benefit of first boarding group(s).

Has anyone sailed recently out of Miami and arrived before their designated PAT time? Were you allowed to enter the cruise terminal if you were early or were you forced to wait?

We have sailed NCL many times out of Miami over the past few years and PAT is pretty much ignored. Curious to see if this was the case with DCL in Miami.

Thanks!

My latest cruise - May, in Puerto Rico - was still going by Disney procedure - honoring the PAT. If you were early, you stood in line, while those with current window PATs were put in front of you. I wouldn’t plan on deviation in this in Miami.

We cruised Miami for the EBTA and it was a hot mess. One huge big line, no separation of PAT's. No signage. No communication. No one checked anything. We had a 11:45 PAT and we were in line for security (outside, in the heat) for over an hour with everyone else.

Note: it was not like that in September when we cruised out of Miami. They did have lines organized by PAT numbers that time. But it was a different terminal with more space.

I HOPE that they have resolved the issues we had - I understand it was the first time at that new, smaller terminal. It was a terrible way to start a vacation.

(they also struggled to get luggage and other items loaded, too. When we were to dinner, there were still piles and piles of bags on the ground by the boat, waiting to be loaded. Something was really off that day)

Also, while Platinum has to pick a PAT, you get first pick as online check in opens earlier for Platinum. You will just behind the Pearl people and there aren’t loads of them. So, most likely you will be able to pick one of the earliest PAT available anyway. Then the issue of arriving earlier than your PAT becomes moot as that would be arriving before the terminal opens.

We were on that cruise too. We had an 11:30 PAT and arrived close to 12:30 by the time our transportation was figured out. Huge line, luggage everywhere!

A lot of contributing factors. There was construction at the port so many people were late. The Gran Prix was in town, so people were delayed because of traffic in Miami. The Dream was late arriving to port which also added to the delay of boarding. The Dream was at a different terminal than they usually were.

It was the perfect storm. Hopefully, it is not always like that and boarding will go according to plan in September.
