Just thought I'd pass along some info I got last night from DU.

DISNEY CRUISE NEWS:

My first update will not affect everyone, but I wanted to make certain to put this at the top of the list because it is a change implemented by Disney Cruise Line. Effective IMMEDIATELY the port charges and fees have changed on Disney’s cruise sailings for future sail dates. If you do not make changes to your reservation this WILL NOT affect you, however ANY changes to a reservation beginning today will incur additional port charges/taxes as imposed by Disney Cruise Line. Please note that this increase in fees is not being imposed by Dreams Unlimited, but by Disney Cruise Line.

So what does this mean to you if you are a cruise client—nothing if you do not make changes to your reservation. However if you should need to make any changes at all (dates, passengers, cabins, transfers, insurance, etc.) the new port charges will be added to your reservation total.

Here is the rate schedule I currently have for this (and as you can see the changes are minimal—but I wanted you all to be aware of them:

a) 7-Night Eastern

ages 6 & older = $49.13

ages 5 - 3 years = $34.13

ages 2 - 0 years = $29.13

Change = None, except for different taxes on children ages 2 - 0.

b) 7-Night Western

ages 6 & older = $60.48

ages 5 - 0 = $45.48

Change = +6.30

c) 7-Night Western
(2 calls at CC on 11/19/05 and 11/18/06)

ages 6 & older = $49.85

ages 5 - 0 = $34.85

Change = -.63

d) 7-Night Western - Costa Maya

ages 6 & older = $41.19

ages 5 - 0 = $26.19

Change = +.08

e) 10-Night
(on DM 12/16/06)

ages 6 & older = $73.76

ages 5 - 3 years = $58.76

ages 2 - 0 years = $53.76

Change = +8.63

For the itineraries that include St. Maarten, the taxes are slightly different for children ages 2 - 0.

I'm waiting for some new cabins to open up to switch to. If I understand this correctly, I will be charged more if I change rooms.

Edited to add that I didn't realize the increase was so small. Of course I didn't read the "change" part that said it was only 6.33 per person for the Western Cruise. I thought it was $60.48 per person. I feel better now! :goodvibes

The changes are so minimal, if I wanted different rooms, I wouldn't worry about it. But, I also wouldn't worry about rooms that are listed as noisy on other websites unless they are under a nightclub.

If you are doing a western, it is at most under $10 a person.

I know this may sound stupid...but does that not pertain to the 3 and 4 night cruises?

WHEW! When I first read that I thought that it would cost us 185 if the stateroom we want opens up! Glad that they really are small changes. :)

:flower:

We spoke to Jewels at DCL this morning. The gov. tax is what the increase was on, not the port charges from what she explained to us. The increase was so far to date on the 7 and 10 night cruises. There has not been an increase on the 3 & 4 night yet.

You can also call DCL direct at 800-511-1333 if that helps anyone too :)

It is a small increase and it does happen from time to time.

Take Care
