i just found out about the PC webcam and went to check it out. I read that the Fantasy is in port now, but if you don't have a schedule is there a way to tell the ships apart from a distance?

Well, the Dream & Fantasy look quite similar from the outside. The Dream is in port Monday & Friday. The Fantasy is in port on Saturday.

Underneath the webcam you'll find a little map showing the channel and the cruise ships (blue indicator) and boats coming and going.
Click on that blue indicator and it will indicate the name of the ship.
