We are staying at Port Canaveral the night before our cruise. Looking for a nice dinner with a view of the port and any ships that may be docked. We are departing Saturday Feb 10th, 2018 so we are looking at dinner Feb 9. Is there a way to know what ships are in port and what restaurant has the best view and food! Thanks

I would like to plan an early dinner to catch the ships departing or at least be out at Jetty park to watch them leaving. Thanks for the info.

Have you noticed recently that portcam at Fishlips is panning? It used to sit fairly stationary until something was happening, now it pans back and forth. Also, you could get a bonus shot on it today. At 3:30 the Thunderbirds will be performing in an air show at Port Canaveral. So those embarking today get a real bonus to start their cruise.

We enjoyed Fishlips a lot.

My guess is that the panning is set if there is no one to manually move it.

Airshow is at 'Space Coast Regional' aka TICO airport, about 13 miles away, not at the port. Since most airshow events happen at low altitude I doubt you'd see much from the port.

As for the camera shots...they have been "zooming" a lot more lately, to the point where you can actually recognize faces on the decks. It has been very enjoyable to watch. We have seen them pulling in the lines and scanning the decks so much more. Thought perhaps they had a new camera guy (if there is such a thing ).

Yes, we know. See the post about wearing clothes on your verandah.

We've recently eaten at several restaurants along there, and all have great views of the ships as the leave. One awesome view was from the patio at Grills. Also, we went down to the park (Jetty Park) at the end last month and watched several cruise ships leaving in the late afternoon.

Here's a link to a list of ships each day.

What time should we be at the restaurants to watch the Fantasy sail? We sail on the 16th of Apr. but the Fantasy sails out on the 15th.

Watching the cruise ships from the waterside restaurants is pretty awesome...we could almost reach out and touch them, and had to crane our necks to look up at the top. Those are massive animals! Like a 12 story apartment building floating by.

Millikens Reef is closet to the Port with a great view, good food, and nice atmosphere . Their website is down right now.
