Cruise parking fees rising

Port Canaveral commissioners on Thursday unanimously approved a $1-a-day increase in parking fees at the port's cruise terminals, effective Nov. 1.

The price for regular-sized vehicles will be $17 a day, up from the current $16 a day.

Vehicles longer than 20 feet, such as buses or campers, will be charged an "oversized fee" for parking of $29 a day, up from the current $28 a day.

The port considers a "day" as each day of the week, rather than a 24-hour period.

Already a lot for just parking there, for the extra cost will they now at least dust off everyone's windshield before they leave?

While no one likes price increases I don't think it is unreasonable....they keep making improvements at the port area and the money does need to come from somewhere. New York is $40 per day to park at the port. I do remember when parking was like $7.50 at PC...the good old days!

Guess I need to prepay our parking for December before they change it in the system.

Of course they raised prices! They have to recoup that storm damage to the port somehow...

In my mind, an additional $7 or $8 is not too much of an increase for the week of parking....

Still better than $20 a day to park at Disney. I would always prepay my parking so I wouldn't have to worry about it on embarkation day. I would hope that they would honor the current price for anyone who prepaid already for a cruise after 11/1.

I'd remind that there are off site parking places, 5 minute ride via free shuttle, at $9 a day ........

there are other places too ... further away but I do not recommend these. Not saying they are bad ... but IMO the extra distance ain't worth it.
