Hi all, I was looking on the Port's website but unless I'm missing something I can't find any info as to where/if there's a passenger pickup area. I don't mean for taxi's/shuttles but for a private vehicle to come in. Our friends will be picking us up and I was curious as to where the private car pickup area would be?

Pick up is the same place, the terminal is on a gated and fenced area and you can only go in that if you are going on a cruise and show ID Now just outside on the main road parrerel to the fence around the terminal and between that and the parking garage there are lay-bys on the right. It's a one way system there.

So for a car you follow signs for the terminal but then at the junction where the terminal gates are in front of you, you turn left then merge right and the lay you is there.

Getting off ship after security walk right and then a cross the drop off road walk one pavement towards the garage through the gate and your at the lay you.

Limited space there so have communication and have the car turn up as you get there only.

and there is a cell phone lot so you can call them as you are exiting customs

or they can wait at McDonalds which is only 5 minutes away and wait for your call ....

otherwise like at the airport

they'll have to circle as security won't let them sit in the pickup area and wait for you

Thanks all. Having never been to that port it's somewhat hard to visualize but I'm certain we'll work it out.

He's my try at helping you visualize .... you can view the entire are via Google Earth or similar

On this picture I've pointed out the Disney terminal and circled the "luggage area" as I call it. Since in theory arrivals and departures don't happen at the same time, a cruise terminal has only one space for this so your friends would pick up at the same place they'd drop off.

My blue line shows the route they'd take (IME) around the front of the terminal to the baggage area (after turning into the port area from A1A/end of SR-528)

There was short term parking at one time but I'm not sure that exists anymore
(the port's web site used to be OK, then they improved it ..... and made it less useful)

there really isn't a nice wait area for departing folks so my suggestion is have your friends wait at McD's (or Grills if they need breakfast) and you call them as you leave the ship to get your bags .... if they leave McD's at this time they'll be there close to the time you exit the terminal . . . your waiting area is on the curb .... so we want to minimize that. From the time you cross the gangway to being outside is usually about 15-20 minutes . . .

p.s. BIG p.s. assumes they have not changed anything since my last experience . . .

Thank you so much Capt! I am going to share this with our friend so they can see it too. They aren't from FL by are driving in from out to state to spend time at WDW together, the visual definitely helps since you points out the areas too.
