In August on our way back to the airport from WDW it seemed they redesigned the airport entrance so you head right into the airport directly.

When we leave the Port with our rental car, will it be difficult to find a gas station close to the airport? (Has the road been redesigned that direction as well that it bypassing the local road and sending you directly into the airport)

I would prefer a gas station maybe an exit before MCO that might have an easy off, easy on.

Also is the only way back to the airport from the Port RT 528. Is that the route the dcl buses use as well.

Thanks

Chris

There hasn't been any changes to the airport access roads. When you come back from the port you get off 528, but instead of following the signs for the airport you should head north on Semoran Blvd and drive past the first two gas stations you'll see on your left as they are real price gougers. Instead pull into the WaWa at 6500 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32822

I think I know the road the OP is talking about. They definitely enhanced the access road and exit on the Boggy Creek side. It is much more streamlined. We always take 417 from WDW to MCO and from the old Boggy Creek Exit to the airport it has been totally redone with the road leading into the airport brand new. From the port to MCO I do not know as we usually don't go back to MCO straight from port.

Yep! Going from WDW to the airport it's seems to be a direct line into the airport. I was wondering if it's the same thing coming for the other direction (port to mco). I hope not so I can get to the gas stations.

Coming from the port to the airport there's no reason to be on 417. Yes, you can go that way but its longer. Just stay on 528.

We always take 528 from the port to MCO, stopping at a BP station right off the highway at the Narcoossee Road exit to fill the rental car. The Narcoossee Road exit is just past the junction with highway 417. Pretty easy off and back on although you have to head right (north) on Narcoossee Rd. for a very short distance as you leave the station due to the divided roadway and then make a U-turn at the first stoplight to head back south to the entrance to 528.

I do see that Exit on the map. Looks like exit 13. Do you think it might be easier than exiting the airport exit and going north on Semoran Blvd grabbing the gas at the WaWa and then turning south on Semora

Ralph and Pam:

Yes, thanks a lot . Your directions of Narcoossee is way more direct than dealing with the airport exit.
