Port arrival time…got later time with Platinum than gold?

Oddly there is no sailing group here or on the Facebook groups, first time for that too!
I will bet there is a FB group. Ask on the Disney Cruising FB group- They have some kick butt DCL FB detectives that can help find it.

Found it easily. See post below for link

Some groups close to the chance of new people entering the group 2-6 weeks prior to departure. Defies logic to me. So many reasons to NOT close it early.

The group they’re looking for isn’t closed- you just have to click join and answer the membership questions. I posted a link to it above it was actually very easy to find

Glad to hear they were able to get on still. I’m in a discussion group that has some people who think groups should be shutdown before it even happens. Like as soon as checked in. I personally have talked to people on the ship that wanted to join while on the ship. I mentioned things I learned from the group and they wanted to join still. You meet nice people, you know?

For the OP, I’m on the January 5th cruise and everyone got later than normal PAT. I’m Pearl and got 11:15. Normally my pat is 10:30. I did get a #2. But most platinums got later times. Since the cruise before us is a Christmas cruise and we are not, I’m pretty sure shoreside will be on the ship taking all the Christmas decor down before we board which is why we all got later Pat arrival times. I went through this during a b2b and we went from Halloween to Christmas with no break between. We didn’t start boarding until 12:30 that day. As for castaway tier loyalty, there is none. I always thought Pearl should get #1 and platinum #2, etc. but now when I cruised the last few times several buses were given #1 and pearls had to wait until they board. It was around 100-150 people boarded on a #1. That is just wrong and it was reflected on my feedback. Not that anyone cares. The only perk I like is not having to checkin at midnight and first day booking new cruises. Nothing else matters.

You can't always compare PATs from one sailing to another (well, you can, but it might not be a totally accurate comparison). Earliest PAT can vary by port, ship, and/or itinerary.

(I also agree with some of the other things noted above for why PAT can vary, especially the 'balance' of people at each CC level.)

Oddly, for the 10 previous cruises the FB group has always been linked on the main summary page of cruise group meets in Disney Cruising….so I never bothered searching. Thanks!

As I said earlier I don"t see CC level, except Pearl, affecting either PAT or BG. We're Platinum and for our Fantasy Cruise in Nov we had a PAT of 12:15-12:30 BG 10. Checked in today for a Jan Fantasy Cruise, got 11:30-11:45 BG 9. Able to arrive 45 minutes earlier, but only 1 BG earlier and we all know there is never 45 minutes between BG's makes no sense. I did both check-ins at 8:00 am.
