Hi,

For late June, what do you guys recommend as port adventures for the Genoa port, Marseilles and Nice. My wife had been to Milan, she said it's mainly for shopping and she doesn't want to go back as a port adventure. I am thinking whats in Genoa or nearby that I should go see, perhaps a rental car from the airport?

Only one of these, where we stopped during our Med. cruise a couple of years ago, was Marseilles. We took a DCL excursion to walled city of Avignon and a castle/winery. Awesome trip, even in a light rain in the morning. Wish we had more time as it was a bit of a bus ride, but then, again, we might be able to go back one day. Marseilles was an alternative port when our Monte Carlo stop was cancelled because of rough seas (it is a tendering port).

I haven't been to any of these ports YET, but it sounds like we may be on the same cruise. :) Some of my coworkers who HAVE spent time in these places recommended seeing Cassis (from Marseilles) and Portofino (from Genoa).

I think there is only one cruise from Rome to Barcelona in June. I got private arrangement for Naples and Florence. My wife's been to Milan and she doesn't believe it is worth the 3.5 hours transfer time to go as it is mainly shopping with the duomo in between. I honestly have been too busy to look around, I think for Marseille. We will be going to St Remy and in Nice we will go to Monaco.

And hello from bay area too!

Visit the five villages of Cinque Terre from Genoa. An hour's drive (or so) from Genoa along the coast, and next door from La Spezia.
There's a Cinque Terre port adventure from Livorno. It doesn't go to all five, but since I've never been to any of them (and I have been to Florence multiple times), it sounded like a good idea. From Genoa I decided on Portofino, though my friend is staying in Genoa for the day.

Other people from the Bay Area on the same cruise halfway across the world! That's great! My friend and I are going to Monaco as well. Maybe we'll bump into each other. :) Have you checked out the thread for our cruise? https://www.disboards.com/threads/disney-magic-7-night-mediterranean-june-23rd-2018.3580796/

Yes hello, fellow cruiser on number 5 Disney cruise too (waiting for my gold)

I will reply on that thread, but we have things planned for every port except Marseille and Genoa. I am debating if I should rent a car and drive around, stay in Genoa or what

Marseille- St Tropez is good. But has traffic.
Provance is good.

Genoa Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre will probably be a sardine can in June. My wife said look elsewhere if possible
