My husband and I would like to plan a trip for a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas as that is when the charts all list as "lower attendance". But, I have heard that is when all the Pop Warner football teams are there and that they take up all 3 All-Stars and overflow goes to both Port Orleans. Can anyone confirm or refute this? We are looking for a slow, calm, quiet "couples" trip. Any suggestions from anyone???? -- Thx, Jan

I was there during PW in Dec '08. I was staying at CSR so I didn't run into any PW'ers. I didn't have any problem at the parks, though. I didn't think they were any more crowded than usual.
Have you considered POFQ? I stayed there with my DS and DD a few years ago and they loved it. It's smaller than POR so less crowded. Nicely laid out and the boat to DTD which stops at POR also stops at POFQ.

I actually prefer Port Riverside.. I have stayed there a few times and we love it! We always want to go back and see Bob Jackson! Bob Jackson is a preformer at the lounge in the main lobby

Well, before my plans changed last December and had to cancel my trip, I was thinking POR since I've never been there. However, like the OP said, what about the overflow from PW people? (Altho, come to think of it, last year they said over-flow would go to CSR.)

I was at POR last December 3-8, as was PW, although they really didn't begin arriving until the 5th. Avoid any resort where they are staying. They absolutely take over.

Pop Warner kids are usually scheduled for the 2nd week after thanksgiving. Meaning, if you go the week immediately following T-day, you are generally free from PW kids until much later in the week (the PW masses arrive that Saturday - one+ week after T-day).
