Last day!! I feel like crying, just like all of us do when we have to leave. I woke up around 8am, threw on my bathing suit and went out to the pool till about 11am. DS joined me about 9:30. We took showers after, finished packing and picked up a Grumpy t-shirt that my Mom asked me to pick up for a family friend. She asked me this morning when I called to check in. Good thing the General Store had the perfect one in XXL too! We drove the car to the airport and National drop off. Wasn’t too hard. I did get charged for being over an hour late, but only $14; so that wasn’t bad and I did expect it. The total for 8 days was $143, still a very good price and worth it to not to have to use Mears. Maybe next time I’ll actually use the car, go to IOA maybe. We checked in at Song, again using the Kiosk, no problems and very quick. We grabbed a Nathan’s hotdog to share and some Krispy Kremes for the plane and went off to the gate for the very sad trip home. I’m already trying to plan a trip to SSR at the end of August, before school starts. I have annual passes and the plane fare is $175/RT right now on Jet Blue. I just have to make sure everything is ok with SSR, but if not; hey I can always hope for AP rate or just stay for 5 days instead of 8. All I know is, I can’t wait to go back!!! Just like all of us DISner's!
I hope you all enjoyed the report and please feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer.

Very nice report. Glad you got your bracelet and bought into DVC too (if only MY budget could afford the latter).

Thank you very much! I just hope I can keep it IN my budget. Spread out over 10 years seems way more manageable than looking at the lump sum.

Great report!!

Here's a tip for next time if you don't think that US/IOA is in your cards: Rent a car one way from the airport, drive yourself to the grocery store and return car to the Dolphin on the same day. On departure day have the rental van pick you up and take you to the Dolphin and get your rental, return it at the airport. We did this last year and the total cost was less then $80.

I did think of that, but I wasn't actually sure until that day that we weren't going to IOA/US. It's my fault since I couldn't make up my mind. lol It seems really easy from you description of how you did it, that helps out alot. Thanks so much!!

This intersting ; don't know what US/IOA is and are you talking about dropping your car off at the Dplhin Resort? Please tell me more!!

US is Universal Studios and IOA is Islands of Adventure. I think what Mom2of2 is referring to is that National Rental Car has a desk at the Dolphin Resort, as in the Swan & Dolphin. There is also a Car Care Center on Disney property that has a few rental car agencies located within it, although I'm not sure which ones. I'm sure the exact ones are somewhere on these boards. The "transportation" board has tons of info, that is where I found all my information in reference to renting a car, car service, taxis, mears, rates, codes, etc... TONS of stuff!! ::yes:: If it wasn't for these boards, I wouldn't have been able to save so much money, see as much, have so much fun and most importantly: feel like part of a family that totally "gets Disney"! Big group hug for everyone! :grouphug: Most of us have families and friends that just don't "get it" and being a part of the Disboards really gives me,(for lack of better words) "a love of Disney" and not having to explain myself, or defend myself. When I started Disboards there were about 65,000 members, there are now 67,000!! I love these boards and the people on them!!
Love ya, mean it!!!
