Hello my fellow Disney LOVES Going back to Disney World in a few weeks. The only places we HAVEN'T stayed at is the WL, POP and POR. Last August we stayed at the POFQ for the first time and loved it. This time we're staying at POR. I know POR is kind of the same as POFQ but I've heard many conflicting ideas on where is the best building to stay at. We usually never pre-request our room before we are there... we just wait till we check-in and 90% of the time they've given us what we request at the time of check-in so hopefully since we'll be there late August it won't be too crowed and we'll get a great room at POR. Please... let me know what building you stayed at and what you were close to (pool, buses, DTD boat, etc). I've written down about 5 different buildings (mansion and alligator) and I'm done trying to figure it out from there I know you all will be of great help and will clear some confusions I have. THANK you in advance and also, where is the hot tub????

I've stayed in Magnolia Terrace twice and Building 18 once.

They are both convenient to the food court. Magnolia Terrace is closer to the pool. I liked Magnolia Terrace better cause I liked using the East Depot bust stop. The Main bus stop is really, really busy. I also liked crossing over the river to get to the main building.

The hot tub is on Old Man Isle.

Have a great stay. You'll love it. It's quite a different feel from French Quarter.

We were there in Feb. of 06 and stayed in building 27 of AB. We have 5 people, so have to be in AB. Building 27 was great - away from the parking lots, but close enough to the pool and restaurant. Building 18 is in a good location too, but it used to be a smoking building. I don't know if that matters to you.

We reallly liked the decor of AB, but, as you've probably seen from other posts, people have definite opinions on which section they prefer.

Have a great time. We'll be at POR 8/26-9/2. Can hardly wait!

:lmao: I have stayed at POR many times. I thought that the Alligator Bayou rooms were tops until last June when we were given a mansion room. It was in Parterre Place (#9534). We loved it! The water view was lovely as was the strol from our room to the food court/main bus stop. I guess it depends on what kind of theme best suits you. I know that I like AB but love room #9534 the best!:yay:

We chose the Mansions last September and stayed at Magnolia Terrace which we requested based upon location and our twin DD4. That was fantastic, especially being so close to the east depot and the pool. This September we are all going (DS styed with grandparents last year) so there will be 5 of us staying in AB and I requested 27, due to 18 having a history of being a smoking building.
