Hi Dandee . You are going to love AKL! We stayed there for a week in August and it was so beautiful. We had a pool view room which was great and although we couldn't really see the pool very well, we had a nice view of Everest. The balcony was quiet and relaxing in the evening and early morning. We loved going downstairs to Boma for breakfast or dinner (of course, the free dining helped!) The lobby is so stunning when you first enter that I always find it overwhelming. We had eaten there before but this was our first stay and I would love to stay there again. It is a bit pricey for us since we normally don't spend much time in the room. In August, we had planned to swim most of the day and do parks in the evening so it was worth it then. Happy planning!

I see in your sig you will be in the World this coming May. Please let me know how the weather is. I'm having the dilemma of when to go...either May or Nov 2008.
Part of our trip will be in Saint Augustine and DH would like to spend some time on the beach. So nice weather is important for this trip.

I think a view of Everest would be great!!! Do you remember the floor or room number or even the side of the lodge you were on? Thanks

I don't remember our room number but we were on the third floor (which is actually the same floor as the lobby). There aren't that many pool view rooms so I suspect most would have a view of Everest.

We are hoping for really nice weather in May! We have visited in March a few times and most days were quite nice, although it was cool and rainy a few times. August was really hot so we are hoping April/May will be perfect! We have friends that have visited during that time frame and they said the weather was wonderful. I also have friends who went in November and also loved the weather. They did have an issue with a hurricane (can't remember the name) but it really only affected one day. Something to consider!
