I know this is an age old question but I was having difficulty finding the answers using the search tool, so I am asking again. What do you guys think? There are 4 adults going. 2 have never stayed on property. In fact one has never been to WDW and the other hasn't been since EPCOT opened. The other two have stated at POR but never at CBR. Currently we are splitting between the two. Two nights at CBR and 3 at POR, because I couldn't stay at one for the whole time, but now it seems reservations are available. I love the theme of POR and POFQ and am concerned I will not like the CBR. What do you guys think?

We stayed at CBR 4 years ago, and POR last week. Although we really enjoyed POR, we missed the feel of the CBR. There is no music playing by the pool or food court at POR. CBR has calipso music playing and really makes you feel like you could be in the caribbean. We also missed the beach and hammocks at CBR.

We live in a woodsy area, so when we go on vacation we like to feel like we're away from it all. I'm sure that is part of our love of CBR.

Have fun whatever you decide!!

I prefer CBR because I love the tropical theme, buildings colors, taking surrey bike rides around the lake, the beaches. I did enjoy the food court and the boat rides at POR, but, the rooms were very dark and while I enjoy walking around this resort, I love how you can see all around the lake at CBR.

I have only been to POR, when it was Dixie Landings, and I loved it very much. I don't know much about CBR.

I feel that you are going in way too short of a trip to split it between 2 resorts. You will hardly have enough time to burrow into either room.

Just back from POR............. It is awesome.you would love it.......haven't been to the other...but we would never even try another after stayin at POR.........
Someone had said there was no music at the pool...everytime I was at the pool last week there was music..........
POR rocks

I suggest CBR. You truly feel like you have escaped from the world when you stay there.

We stayed at Port Orleans and had a wonderful time. Everything is accessible, and the scenery is breathtaking.

My experiences with CBR is that it is like a maze, and you have to walk quite far to get to everything. I had trouble even finding the checkin counter.

I chose CBR only because it would be my personal choice - you might feel different. I've been to both, and they are both great (I do love the boat ride to Downtown Disney from POR), but when I see the video and see pictures, it's always CBR that gets me to want to go back to again. My daughter and her fiance will be going on our next trip, and they will be staying at a moderate while my son and I stay at the Contemporary Tower for his birthday. She originally said she wanted to stay at POR until she got the Official Guide and the memories came back about CBR.

The plus side to CBR is that it does feel like a seperate vacation - the theme is much stronger than at POR. However, the downside, as someone else mentioned, is that it is more spread out, depending on where you are staying.

Splitting may not be a bad idea, depending on the tempremant of those going. We enjoy splitting stays because we live out of the suitcase, so it's easier, even if it was for 2 days. My preference is at least 3 nights (if I can afford it), although as you can tell from my signature, 1 night stays are not unknown to me (gotta check out Pop Century on this next trip). Enjoy.

I would choose CBR for atmosphere, activities, layout and landscaping. It's a very pretty resort.

I also think 5 days is to short of a trip to split the stay though it is okay. I did it in 2001 and we really didn't get to spend much time at the Dolphin since we were there for only 2 nights.
Both CBR and POR are great. I like both a lot. I am of the opinion that you should try someplace you have not stayed so I am voting for CBR but it depends on where these friends are from. I vote for choosing which ever theme is farther from the look of where the live. If they live in Hawaii or Key West I would choose POR. If they live in a woddsy setting of in the south I would choose CBR.

We stayed at CBR in December and we loved it, we will go back for sure...I didn't find it hard to get around the hotel, everything is pretty much connected some what...Martinique is the building to request close to everything...I hope this helps...:wave2:

We have stayed at CBR many times and have always enjoyed our stay. We always request Jamaica because we love the quiet atmosphere and the walk across the bridge to OPR.

We always get a King room and have been very satisfied with our rooms.

We will return to CBR in the next few years.:Pinkbounc
