POR Trundle Beds are 65"

I just booked 6 nights at POR in Alligator Bayou for five of us (my DH, DD16, DD12, and DD10). After I reserved, I called POR directly and asked them exactly how big the trundle beds are. I was told they are 65" long (5'5"), which dispells the concern that they're only good for up to 8 year olds (good!).

Now my only concern is comfort. I've read in so many posts that those trundles are terribly uncomfortable (bad!). I've also read that some were able to get roll-aways in Magnolia Bend upon arrival. Maybe if I call/fax ahead they might let us do that too? Or should I wait until we get there to request a roll-away? I was told by the POR CM that they probably wouldn't actually book five of us in any of the mansion rooms, and that the roll-aways couldn't be reserved ahead of time. Anyone have some good info about this? :)

We last stayed at POR in 2000. My son, who would have been 12, slept fine fon the trundle.

Last year we took turns on the trundle (to be fair), so I even slept on it one night. The only thing that I didn't like is that it really just pulls out on the floor, not like a roll-away. However, for a family of 5 this is a great resort!

My daughter slept on the trundle, she didn't have any complaints. They do put families of 5 in the Mansion section. When we went in April they gave us a room in Acadian house. However, we needed a trundle so we changed to AB section. We stayed in Oak Manor 2 years ago and they put the 5 of us in there. Our children were 1, 1, and 4 then my dh and myself. The twins slept with my dh and I slept with dd.

My 63 yr old mother and myself fought over the trundle bed last trip (not really but we did take turns). It was quite comfy, but I must say I could probably sleep standing up in the bathtub with the shower running or on a briar bush after spending all day at a park, especially Epcot :rotfl2:

we stayed In Alligator Bayou and there are five of us. The trundle bed was basically a foam mattress on a sled that rolls on casters. It was comfortable enough but it is only a few inches off the floor. I originally wanted to stay in the mansion section but did not push it. I am glad we stayed in AB, it was very nice and seemed more private than the mansions. :wave2:
