As I understand it, the trundle bed is only available at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort (at least out of the moderates). Is this bed something you can move around the room, or are you stuck with where it comes out? Is it more convienent than a rollaway bed? Does housekeeping make up the trundle bed each night?

Thanks for your help.

From what I remember you may be able to move it, but I don't know that there would be any other place to put it. We always had it under the bed during the day and my daughter would pull it out when she was ready to go to bed.

Also... these are only in the AB section of POR.

I forgot about housekeeping. Our housekeeper did make it up each day.

It is on wheels so I guess you could move it but there isn't alot of floor space to move it into. It is under the bed closest to the door. When you pull it out it is next to the entry door. I think it is more convinient than a rollaway since it goes right under the bed. I always put the coverlet back over the bed before I put the trundle back under the bed so housekeeping didn't touch it. We didn't have such great housekeeping when we went though.

Thanks for all the great responses.

As a follow-up question, was it a problem having the bed RIGHT next to the air conditioner? I'm thinking noise and allergy issues.

Thanks again.

We didn't notice a problem with the noise or allergies. My son suffers majorly from allergies and asthma and I don't recall him having any problems there.

So, glad you asked this question, I booking a vacation for 3 and would prefer not to book a second room but stay at a moderate hotel. Has anyone tried the trundle-sounds better than the cot that they bring to the room,yes?

Thanks in advance ::MinnieMo

I was booking a room on the Disney website for 4 adults and 1 child age 17 and they put me into a room at POR so I assume it will have the trundle since there are 5 of us. However, now that I am investigating this more, it sounds like the trundle is actually quite small and the 17 year old won't be comfortable in it. But would Disney let me book this room if we couldn't all fit in it? I am a little confused.

Stitch 1404 my 10 yr old slept in the trundle and she's 57 inches, I think if you're much bigger than that you wont fit unless you sleep on your side with your legs curled up.

you can always bring a twin size air mattress and put it over by the sinks, or move the table over there and it might fit where the table usually is.

I have personally slept on the trundle and it was plenty comfy for me. I have arthritis so not all beds "work" for me, this one was fine. Of course, I was at WDW and after the first day, I could have probably slept on my head in the bathtub with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra playing the Mickey Mouse March song in the bathroom with me.
