POR to Poly -->7:30am?

Yes, transportation will be available, but the easiest thing to do is to take a cab so you don't have to worry if you will make it in time!

I agree. For a reservation that early, I would take a cab. You can always use the Disney transportation after breakfast.

We prefer taking a cab. The bus system has let us down before for the early ADRs both at the parks and at other resorts.

1. We were at the Poly before Christmas and going to Cape May Cafe for breakfast. We were told, "Take the monorail over to MK, get on the bus for YC/BC." Okay, great! We get to MK, and wait for 30 minutes. No one stops. Finally, a Disney transportation supervisor comes by to check on us and took us to the resort.

2. We had an 8:15 AM ADR at Ankershus. We go out to our bus stop a little before 7 AM (this time at POR). By 7:35 AM, I'm starting to panic and we have seen at least two buses for the other three parks. We are just gathering our stuff up when another transportation supervisor asks if he can give us a lift.

I've given the bus transportation a shot for early morning ADRs, but I think I'm done. A cab should cost you approximately $20+tip.

Disney does offer transportation service early on to help guests get to ADRs. However, I will state again that they suggest guests allot 90 minutes to do so. And many people just don't want to budget that much time to get from point A to point B. Using a taxi pretty much ensures you will spend less time getting to your meal.

I know for my family, those extra minutes of sleep in the morning are very precious! I'd much rather get an extra 45 minutes of shut eye, pay the $20, and know I will make my ADR without the hassle of waiting around for a bus or monorail.

I have never woken up and waited 90 minutes Niall my travels. We typically eat/ become "hangry" by 8 so all of our breakfast adrs are around 700-8am. I've never left more than 30-45 mins before. Maybe we're just lucky.

Yep, you've been lucky. If you have an ADR at 7am??? Gonna be hard to get to it, depending on where it is. If it's at the Polynesian or GF??? You have to be out at the MK bus stop prior to 6:30..then, you'll have to hope the driver drops you off at the desired resort. Otherwise, it isn't going to happen. The monorail doesn't start until 7. If the ADR is at 7:30, you have a much better shot. But, if you dilly dally and miss that first bus??? You may have to wait until close to 7am for the next one. They do not come nearly as frequently as the regular buses do.

Duly noted, no dilly dallying that morning, we will get our tushies on that first bus :cool1:

I have a reservation at Ohana at 730am for me and my dd in December. We are also staying at Pop. When I asked about getting there the CM who made our resort reservation told me to let them know when we check in that we have an early morning ADR and they will be sure to get us there. Luckily if it looks like that won't happen, we will have our car and drive over. But, I personally would never pay for a cab when transportation is free and no restaurant reservation is that important to pay extra $ to get to.

Well, if something happens and you end up missing your meal at Ohana's you will end up paying a no show fee. Disney typically gives you a 15-30 minute grace period before they consider you a no show. So don't wait too long at the bus stop if one doesn't come by for a while. Hop in your car!

I have to say I'm a bit baffled by your being instructed to mention your ADR at check in. They don't call buses for you, they start running that early all of the time for ADRs.

There's nothing like calling if you're going to be late. We had a a 730 chef Mickey and ended up running late because DH blew out his flip flop and insisted on going back to the room ( we were staying at Caribbean beach) vs buying a new pair when we got there. I called while I waited they were totally ok with it. No no show fee. No show fee only applies if you don't show.

Awesome! Was not aware that they did that!:)

They will make sure ou get to your early reservations, even if they need to arrange the transport for you. This happened to us once and the front desk called someone and a bus turned up 5 minutes later.

You seem to have unusually bad luck with early breakfast buses!

1) Stinks you were told to do only that with no other action; especially that early in the morning, buses generally don't pick up guests at the parks without some prior knowledge. (more typical advice for this meal would/should have been: take the bus to DHS, walk from there to the Beach Club - or take the Friendship Boat if it's running that early).

2) Lest I be accused of being a Disney apologist :lmao: I won't surmise what problem may have occurred... but could I ask how they got the other Epcot-bound guests to the park? Those vans aren't that big, and there must have been mire than just your party waiting after 35 minutes?

Just a bit of advice for everyone...those CMs making your resort reservations??? They have little to no idea about what they're talking about. I don't mean to sound mean, but in all reality, these people have been handing out less than accurate info for years.
There are early morning buses for just this purpose. If the bus isn't going to 'get it done' for you, or you hate buses, or whatever, you should plan on taking a cab.
This is the big reason I always, always tell people to be careful about making really early ADRs in the morning. It is not quick getting from resort to resort in the morning..and if it's a 7:30 or earlier ADR?? You are going to have an issue. So, know what your transportation options are before booking an ADR. It will save you a ton of stress...unless you just want to cab it.
