I switched from POR to POFQ, convince me it was the right move. I just cant decide. I like the looks of POR AB section but am worried about getting a room too far away. Actually from the pictures that I have seen I like everything about POR more except for the size. Seems like the food court has a better selection and the pool looks bigger.

The food court is bigger at POR And there is a sit down restaurant there. That said, we prefer POFQ, it is so much smaller and easier to get around, and the pool is still a lot of fun for the kids. Also, we like that French Quarter theme.

Also, you can use the facilities at both resorts no matter which of the two you are staying at. It is a nice, peaceful walk between the two resorts.

We did have a room in POR several years ago that was extremely far from the food court, etc. We hated the long walks just to get a mug refill. The foliage there kept steaming up my glasses terribly.

So - we're trying POFQ for the same reason - the size. I hope we made the right decision. :thumbsup2

We have not stayed at POR but we stayed at POFQ last April & we loved it!!! We have stayed at 2 values & CBR but we like POFQ the best. The bus transportation was great because you get picked up first & dropped off first at night. You are close to the pool & food court & it is so quiet there. We will be there in 38 days!!
Have a great time!!

We have stayed at both POR and POFQ. We prefer POFQ. Everything is close and our experience was wonderful. If you want to check out the food court or restaurant at POR, it's just a short walk. I think you made the right choice :goodvibes

Personally I prefer Riverside for the extra facilities and overall lusher theming - but you're quite right about the size of the place. I would definitely prefer to stay in POFQ if the only room at Riverside was one stuck out on the far edges of building 39.

You certainly won't be disappointed with POFQ though, it's lovely too and everything is close together - and it's only a short walk to the rest of the facilities at POR if you decide you do want them.

I'm staying at POFQ in May and have no reservations about it, as I've stayed there before and loved it. However, in Sept we are trying PORS for the first time and am very nervous about it. My mom will be in an ECV and I am worried to death that we are going to be stuck at the last bus stop and never be able to get on a bus.:rotfl: My gut instinct keeps telling me to switch to POFQ where I know everything is close and there is only one bus stop, but I really want to try PORS, because it's the only moderate we've never stayed at. Oh, decisions, decisions! What do I do?:rotfl:

I've stayed at both and they're both great resorts. But if you want to make sure you're not walking too far to the food court, a preferred room at POR would probably solve that. But it is really nice at POFQ to be so much less spread out and to have just one bus stop that's picked up and dropped off first. That was the reasoning for our choosing POFQ for our upcoming trip.

POFQ is my favorite by far between the two. It is a much smaller resort, so nowhere is too far to walk, plus my kids loved the "King Triton" slide as they call it :thumbsup2

I've never stayed at POR, but I have stayed at POFQ twice. I love that place. It's small, quiet, and very relaxing. One of its perks that have not been mentioned is it has its own bus stop at MK at night. A huge plus, if you ask me. ;)

We've stayed at both and definitely prefer POFQ! It is a truly charming and cozy resort! :thumbsup2

We stayed at POFQ last summer and loved it! I chose it due to its smaller size. One night we walked to POR and sat on benches outside of the food court and we loved it...I actually wished we had stayed there once I saw it. We ate at their food court a few times and DD also used their main pool several times.

All in all, I did love the fact at the end of the day walking to my room in 3 minutes and walking to the Food Court in only 1-2 minutes. I don't think you're going wrong with POFQ. There's nothing about it NOT to like. It is only a 10 minute (or less) walk to POR if you want to spend some time there and the walk, especially in the evening/night, is very enjoyable and relaxing. It could possibly be a shorter walk from POFQ to POR than from the farthest buildings at POR to POR's food court and main pool. If size is important to you, I'd go with POFQ!

We love POFQ precisely beacuse of the size! It's so compact and manageable, no matter where you stay. You can use the POR facilities (Food Court, pool, etc.) and the walk there is very nice, so you can visit there if you like. You'll definitely have a great time.

You'll definitely be closer to everything at POFQ than at POR-AB.
