We're staying at POR, if we want to visit POFQ or use the cool pool there, about how far a walk is it?

I just thought of this, and it seems like a good idea to me... If we are waiting for a POR bus to get us back to the resort and a POFQ comes first, we can just take the POFQ bus and walk back to our room, right? We are going to request a POR building near the main lobby building.

TIA:bounce:

I am not too good on distances, I live in the country, but My best guess would be about 1/8 to 1/4 mile, or the length of 2 football fields, or 7-8 city blocks, or 10 minutes at 50 years old! Hee Hee!!

POFQ might be closed during your stay at PORiverside altough disney has scheduled a reo-opening of that resort. The walking distance is only about 300 yards.

The distance from POR to POFQ depends on your location. If you are at the far end of POR, the walk will be much longer. The closest POR building to POFQ is Patrierre Place. The walk is very pleasant, so be sure to do it. ;)

When they combined the 2 resorts, there is now one bus. The bus is called Port Orleans. There are 5 bus stops within Port Orleans. The first bus stop is POFQ (main building). The second bus stop is POR main building. There are 3 more bus stops at POR - one in the farther bayou section and 2 for the mansion section. Whenever you are in a park, board the Port Orleans bus to get home. ;)

If you are at POFQ, you can hop on any bus to get to any of the POR bus stops. If you are in POR, you cannot ride the bus to POFQ.

When DW & I stayed at Dixie Landings (I know, but it was our first WDW resort & it will always be DXL to me!) we always enjoyed getting off at POFQ & strolling along the lovely river walk in the evening. We stayed there in October & walked to the FQ pool several times. It's a beautiful place to walk around, and don't forget to take the boat to DD, especially at night!

We stayed in Port Orleans (back when it and Dixie Landings were two separate resorts), and we were given the VERY LAST room in PO -- I don't mean there were no rooms left, I mean that we were the farthest away from the pool, the gift shop, etc.

Anyway, we could SEE the mansion section of Dixie Landings from our room. It is VERY CLOSE. We walked over to the Dixie pool with our two-year old, and she had no problem "hoofing it." There's a trail, and it's well-lighted at night.

One little hint about Port Orleans: don't pay extra for the river view -- or at least don't accept a second floor room with a view. The beautiful crepe myrtle trees blocked every bit of the river view!
